McDonald's — Restaurant in Bengaluru

Visited here on 19 nov 22 to have a nice weekend after college but surely enough the lady at the entrance who greets everyone had to spoil it for us!

Me along with my other 2 friends have visited here a couple of times we just take off with 3 large meals which usually costs us in the range of 900 - 950 at the max.

I'm very familiar with the machine from which you can place an order without waiting at the counter, there was this lady who greeted us and wanted to assist us, I politely told her I'm familiar with the machine, thank you. She still stood there I was like okay fine whatever... me and my friends browsing on what to order, when she overhears us and gets to know that we want meals she suggests us the combo meal which would apparently cost us "LESS" and she was suggesting us drinks which first of all we were not interested in, then she says things like sir you'll save 100 rupees this that yada yada but she wont tell you that you'll still have to pay a certain amount, she'll twist words to make it seem like we would be saving a lot of money and surely enough we fell for it, our usual bill of 900 costed us 1250 this time just for 2 extra items! Seemed more like a rip off to me to be honest.

Then I paid then and there itself without realizing much, but then, when I sat down waiting for the food and in the hindsight I just realized what had happened, I had been made a fool off, and the lady upsold us college students for something that we didn't even want in the first place.

I shared the same with Mr. Kiran to let him know what had happened, I didn't want any refund or free food but what she did certainly is something that left us in anger and completely spoiled our moods and weekend

But surprisingly enough to make it even worse, the burgers were cold and the coke was warm. Now I don't know what to say so we just finish the "not so appetizing" food and write them a note and get the hell out of there.

Not critiquing the food, I love the burgers at McDonald's but don't know why 2 things had to go wrong on this particular day.

Also their softie machine never seems to be working, why even have it in the menu if it's never available?

I visit the McDonald's at RT nagar quite often, that branch is more spacious and I never faced such issues at the entrance nobody upsold me stuff I didn't want. After this incident I don't think I'll ever be visiting this branch ever again due to the horrible experience, and if circumstances lead me to visit this place I will definitely make sure I don't hesitate to tell them I need my own space to order please leave me alone (in a polite way ofcourse)

In the end I just want to bring it to everyone's attention that don't let them UPSELL you, specially college students, it's very evident that McDonald's commands their employees to do so, and I understand that they're just doing their job! But please dont upsell people like this it leaves a very bad impression and makes them never come back again or just find a substitute.

(Message to the lady) Thanks for spoiling our weekend, we were 3 very angry and unhappy people after realizing...

Slooooooooow Service is the highlight of this outlet. But yes, I have seen outlets which works much much slower pace than this. So, I'm generously giving 3.5 rating to this outlet.

Located few meters away from the MS Ramaiah Signal, it attracts a huge crowd even on a weekday. Maybe due to its competitive pricing or its outdoor seating it has a large number of patrons than any other similar restaurants on the same road.

AMBIENCE: If you want to reach the serving counter, first you must walk through the series of maze created by inappropriately placed tables and chairs. The only word comes to my mind to describe its overall ambience is "Andar-Bahar". Yup, they have both indoor and outdoor seating, most of the people including me prefer outdoor seating to avoid the congestion created near service counter due to slow pace service and to enjoy a great view of New BEL Road.

SERVICE: As I described above it's very very slow but the staffs are friendly and they do remember your specific requests. They don't add anything extra to your order. I have observed them getting confused in the kitchen and sometimes they have forgotten to add sauce to the Mexican fries.

FOOD: As far as burgers concerned, it scores just good in my views but not the best. Maybe because sometimes patty won't be hot enough or if patty is ok the bun starts to feel old. Fries are always fun but I found KFC's fries delightful. And I hate Coke in McD as it will be too diluted and tastes just like flavoured water. But yes, their breakfast menu is quite promising and spicy paneer burger is nice. Today it happened to taste their swirl ice cream and to be frank it didn't appeal too much. It was just like frozen cream with no essence of vanilla or whatsoever flavour.

EVERYTHING ELSE: Parking can be an issue during weekends as you need to park on one side of the road. Hygiene has been maintained well in the restaurant but I feel like employees in the kitchen must be trained a bit more in this regard as I observed them bumping into each other with food all the time.

FINAL VERDICT: If you are in hurry, this is not the fast food option you are looking for. But if you want to enjoy the outdoor seating and view of New BEL Road munching some fries, yup you are in right...

Dear McDonald's Customer Care Team,

I am writing to share my concerns regarding the BEL Circle, Bangalore outlet, which I have been visiting regularly for the past few months. Initially, my experience was good, but over time I started noticing issues with the quality of food and service.

**The fries and burger buns are often served cold and not fresh, which is disappointing, as customers expect hot and fresh food at McDonald's.

**The staff at this outlet are not supportive, and although the manager listens, there seems to be no action taken to improve the situation.

**On one occasion, a staff member spoke to me very rudely while I was on a call. Unfortunately, I do not remember the exact date as I had to leave quickly,customer deserve respect, but this kind of behavior is unacceptable.

** I had ordered a meal combo with a soft serve included. Since the machine was not working, the staff offered fries instead. I was left confused because I had already received fries as part of my combo. When I requested for a modification, they simply said “it cannot be done as it is system-generated.” This was very disappointing and left me feeling that customer satisfaction was not a priority

** Additionally, I would like to clarify your policy regarding customers sitting in the outlet. After purchasing snacks, is a customer not allowed to sit for a few hours? I want to understand this clearly, as I was made to feel uncomfortable for doing so.

I request you to kindly look into these matters seriously, as repeated poor experiences make customers feel their spending at McDonald's is not valued. I hope necessary actions will be taken to improve food quality and staff behavior at this outlet.
