❣️Place: Afraa is on the 7th floor, G- block, City Center 1, Saltlake Sector 1.
❣️Ambience: The Arabic word "Afraa" means 'white' or 'fair'. Well, I must say, the ambience of this place completely justify the name. The interior is fairly decorated with different sitting arrangements. People can enjoy the view of the city from different corners of this place. Very peaceful soothing ambience.
⬇️Let's start the chapter with lipsmaking staters⬇️ ❇️Ajwaini Fish Tikka- Boneless fish pieces are marinated in a thick batter of Ajwain & other spices. Then they grilled in tandoor & finally served with salad & dip. Fish pieces have amazing grilled texture.
❇️Buttermilk Fried Chicken- This is my favourite of this lot!!! Tender chicken pieces coated with butter milk & other spices. Then deeply fried & served with salad & dip. Crispy from outside but juicy from inside.
❇️Pizzette/ Mini Pizza (Veg)- This is a small version of pizza. The little thin crust is topped with pizza sauce, cheese, minced vegetables & sprinkled with chilli flakes & origano.
⬇️Now come to the excellent main couse⬇️ ❇️Grilled Fish With Garlic Caper Butter- Smooth texture of gravy & fresh grilled fish pieces- what an amazing combination! The gravy is enriched with a flavour of garlic & butter.
❇️Purani Dilli Butter Chicken- Old is gold! Tender chicken pieces are marinated in yoghurt, ginger & other spices & then cooked in a flavourful gravy.
❇️Mutton Roganjosh- If you are a fan of mutton like me, you must love this lipsmaking recipe. Mutton Rogan Josh is originated from Kashmir. In this dish, mutton pieces are cooked in an aromatic gravy. I LOVE THIS SO MUCH.
❇️Daal Makhani- Daal Makhani is a classic Indian recipe which is mainly made with daal infused with several spices, butter & cream.
❇️Subz Pulao- In this preparation streamed rice are sauted with vegetables. Little bit sweet in taste.
❇️Roti/ Indian Bread- Freshly baked rotis can perfectly combine with Daal Makhani.
⬇️Sweet ending⬇️ ❇️Malpua With Rabri- Malpua & Rabri both are my favourite Indian dessert. Malpuas are mainly made with a batter of flour, milk, sugar. This batter is fried into small batches & then dipped into sugar syrup. On the other hand, Rabri is a combined form of milk & condensed milk. So, if these two come together in a same plate, the magic must be there.

Read moreWe've been visiting Afraa Deli since the day it opened, and it has always felt like a cozy, welcoming place with delicious food and warm hospitality. What set it apart from other cafes was not just the food, but also the genuinely kind and respectful behaviour of the staff.
However, over the past two weeks, I’ve visited three times and had a disappointing experience each time. There is a new staff member (I believe a server or attendant) whose behavior does not align with the standard we’ve come to expect from Afra. Unfortunately, he comes across as rude and lacking basic courtesy. His tone is abrupt, and he makes you feel rushed — as if you're eating at a roadside food stall rather than a warm classy café.
Even during non-peak hours with plenty of empty tables, he repeatedly pushes for the bill before we’re even done eating, making the experience feel uncomfortable and unwelcoming. His only concern seems to be whether we’ve finished our food. He won’t wait for us to actually say we’re done or request the bill; instead, he keeps approaching with the same question, as if saying “please gobble your food and leave as fast as possible.”
