Chili’s has always been one of my favorite food chains, and since the Salt Lake outlet has just opened, we decided to check it out. The food quality is consistent with what you’d expect from Chili’s, but the ambience here is not as classy or comfortable as their other outlets.
Drinks
Peach Fantasy – A creamy blend dominated by vanilla ice cream with just a mild touch of peach. I personally enjoyed the subtle peach flavor, though it’s not a colorful drink. Recommended if you prefer rich, creamy blends.
Fresh Lime Soda – A classic choice. We went for the sweet-and-sour mix, which turned out refreshing and perfectly balanced. Its mostly sour profile really helps reset your palate in between dishes. Highly recommended.
Food
Signature Wings – Our all-time favorite at Chili’s. We ordered six wings in Texas Spicy sauce and six in Santa Fe sauce. Both were great, but I preferred the Santa Fe (which we tried for the first time), while my husband still stands by his favorite, the Texas Spicy.
John Dory Fish Steak – Delightfully flavorful, rich yet light, served with dip, boiled beans, scallions, and mash. Taste-wise, it was excellent, but the portion size felt a little less satisfying.
Overall Experience
The food was as good as always, but the ambience was a letdown. The outlet is noisy and lacks a calm corner where you can sit back, relax, and have a proper conversation. While it’s close to our place and worth a try, we’ll likely avoid this outlet in the future for a quieter...
Read moreWent here for dinner tonight. This branch was offering buy 1 get 1 on the entire menu tonight. As expected, there was a lot of rush due to this reason, and we had to wait for around 45 mins to get a table. That's totally understandable considering the crowd. But what struck me the most was how ill-prepared the staff was to deal with such a rush. After being seated, we had to ask twice and wait for 15 mins before they even served us water. On top of that, the food didn't live up to the usual standards of Chili's either - in terms of both taste and quantity. We ordered 1 portion of chicken crispers, 1 tenderloin burger, and two drinks. The chicken dish had only 5 strips of chicken. And even those were quite average sized. Usually at other outlets, the portions are much larger. I don't know if they cut down on the quantity due to the 50% discount. Moreover, the corn on the cob was totally cold and didn't have any butter or salt. This time also, we had to ask twice and wait for over 10 mins to get our dip refilled. The burger was average as well. Overall, the experience didn't live up to our expectations. I don't know if the service and food is going to be this deplorable on normal days as well, but if it does, it's better to give this branch a miss and go to Acropolis or...
Read moreChili’s has never been my favorite, even in the USA, where it’s known for serving standard Tex-Mex food and drinks. This was my first time trying Chili’s outside the US, and unfortunately, it didn’t do much to change my opinion.
We chose the city center location for a friends’ reunion, but the experience was disappointing from the start. First off, they don’t even have a washroom inside the restaurant—you have to step outside to use one!
The service was equally lackluster. The staff were unwelcoming, offering nothing beyond the robotic “Welcome to Chili’s.” They didn’t even serve water until we specifically asked for it—and when we requested two bottles, they only brought one, which was absurdly overpriced.
We ordered a few drinks—virgin mojito and fresh lime soda—but they were bland and uninspiring. For food, we tried the fried shrimp basket, loaded nachos, quesadilla, and wings. Everything tasted basic at best, but the wings were downright awful. Instead of proper chicken wings, they served what seemed like poorly cooked drumsticks with minimal seasoning. It was honestly inedible (check the picture for proof).
Overall, the meal was overpriced, underwhelming, and far from enjoyable. Definitely not a place I’d...
