Address: Plot No, 86, 2nd Avenue, CD Block, Sector 1, Bidhannagar, Kolkata, West Bengal 700064 Visting Hours: Daily from 12pm to 10pm Service options: Dine-in, Take-out, No-Reservation, No Contact Delivery. The name "Oudh" comes from Awadhi Culture of Lucknow (then known as Awadh). The ambience is totally 'Mughlai' and a slow music (mostly Ghazal) keeps playing in the background which gives a soothing effect. Before coming to the review, I would to highlight that the place is very popular and crowded mostly. On any random day and random time it might require you to wait for minimum of 30 mins to dine-in and for special occasion you can guess it. Coming to the food, we have ordered Gosht Awadhi Handi Biryani, Murgh Bhuna and Lucknowi Paratha under Main Course and Phirni under Desert. The biryani was decent, two-eggs, two-mutton pieces with flavors of saffron and cardamom in the rice. The price was Rs.445 and it will normally be sufficient for two people depending on the intake-capacity obviously. The Murgh Bhuna, was juicy and full of spices, four-pieces of Chicken which costed for Rs.330. Lucknowi Paratha was decent, cut into four pieces which costed for Rs.70 each. The phirni is almost similar to Kheer but a bit more solid and tastes quite similar. Now coming to the review, The Biryani was Good and Price is reasonable too, as compare to the quantity and quality. The Murgh Bhuna was undoubtedly Delicious but Over-Priced as it was only four medium-small pieces of Chicken with some Gravy. The Lucknowi Paratha was more-like normal paratha cut into four pieces, a bit over-priced. The Phirni tasted Average and judging by the quality and quantity, it was over-priced too. In a nutshell, the food was decent but a bit over-priced. Not to mention you are paying for the Ambience too, which is like totally unique as they create a totally different Atmosphere. N.B: I would have rated this place 3 stars but based on the Ambience, I have rated it 4 stars. Once you get your table and start ordering, the waiting time is very long, so make sure to order everything at once rather than one by one. Also, once you get a table, no strangers will share the table, it will only be either you, your friends or your family. The sanitary facilities are also decent.

Cheated Meal. No I'm not talking about the cheat meal that you have without telling your dietician. Oudh serves one of the worst, overpriced, overhyped Biryani in Kolkata and it was the worst among all the Biryani I've tried till date. I consider it to be cheated and fooled by them. Oudh is one of the most popular name in Biryani then why I'm criticizing it? Believe me now a days its not very hard to gain popularity. By spending some money on social media marketing and so called influencers you can easily achieve what they've done and many restaurant are doing the same. Oudh 1590 Special Raan Biryani @ Rs.480 (1/5) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Just after opening the container we understood we've been cheated. They delivered the Biryani in a 1500ml container where only half were filled. Pictures are attached. Basically only 750ml Biryani, what most other ordinary restaurant serves under Rs.150 they served it for 3 times of the price. We thought one will be sufficient for 2 people and 3 plate will be sufficient for 5. But guess what, it was only for a single person. Coming to the Biryani, I can't really call it Biryani. I've tried Biryani from several reputed places but they've completely changed the definition of Biryani. It was just ghee bhaat with some added color, no spices whatsoever absolutely tasteless worthless and meaningless. By Awadhi Biryani they only knew to remove potato and that they removed. Minced mutton rolled were cooked separately and tasted tangy and disgusting, seemed not fresh. Murgh Awadhi Handi Biryani @ Rs.395 (1/5) -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Delivered in a clay handi for showoff. exactly same rice, no specialty, 2 eggs and Chicken. Basically the rice was same and didn't liked it at all same as Raan Biryani. I called Oudh immediately after finding container was half filled and my god the behavior of their staff was so rude. I wish I could attach the call recording here with the review for public. Disgusting behavior, they don't even know officially what they're serving, at last they said that's Oudh's Original Biryani. If all the Biryani restaurant in the city becomes unavailable then also I'll never ever get back to them. Worthless robbers opened up a restaurant with money power and now making money by fooling people. Karma will eat their money one day.

Dining at Oudh 1590 was an experience that I expected to be better. The first time I heard about this restaurant was from my friends and they said it was great. They tried the Biriyani there and told me it was wonderful. Honestly, I didn't see much of the great descriptions that my friends told me. Galouti kebab was the first food item that we picked. It is made of what seems to be ground mutton, fried and made into the shape of a thick patty. It was not good. It was too mushy for it's looks. I am NOT a big fan of mutton so for me, I would rate it 2/5. Next item is the Qalmi kebab which is like a chicken tandoori. I love chicken and while it looked very tasty, it didn't meet my expectations for how much better the taste could have been, just like it's looks. It tasted fine, but it could have had more deliciousness to it. Though I didn't like the taste, I'll rate it a 3/5. Now, for the finale! Biriyani! When I first saw and smelled it, I thought I would give it a full 5/5! But that was not the case in this restaurant, oh no. This is the Gosht Awadhi Handi Biryani and the Murgh Awadhi Handi Biriyani. The difference between the Gosht and Murgh is that Gosht is mutton an Murgh is chicken. I tried both and here's how they tasted: Both biriyanis were tasteless and the chicken felt like was the same but a bigger Qalmi. But the chicken was made to taste like a normal chicken. As for the mutton, it was fine but it wasn't better than the chicken. The Biriyani rice didn't have a good taste, but as a biriyani lover, I wouldn't say it was bad, but if my friends say it was that good, I would absolutely disagree. This Biriyani gets a rating of 4/5. The restaurant itself was a fine dining with expressing the Mughal culture. The service could have been better and shouldn't take so much time for this kind of food. This concludes my review and you must remember to look for a restaurant's quality and better yet, their food's quality. Happy dining. (Sorry no photo for chicken!)

This place specializes in Awadhi cuisine. Serving one of the best biriyanis in Kolkata. Recommended by my wife, we went there last Saturday for dinner. The location is just 5 mins walk from city center 1. There was no waiting time. The wood engraved interiors, paintings and chandelier along with the soft music will transport you to the age of maharajas. We settled down and found the menu printed in tablemat (serving dual purpose of disposable menu card and tablemat) along with a disposable dinner plate, quarter plate, spoon, fork and a glass all packed in a transperent plastic wrap (charged at Rs21 + 18% GST per head). We ordered Gosht Galawati Kabab, Murgh Pardah Biriyani and Shahi Tukra. The Galawati Kabab was worth all the hype. One portion had 4 pieces. It just melt in the mouth texture with right blend of spices. Highly recommended. After much speculation we selected the Murgh pardah biriyani and we were not a bit dissapointed. It tasted much different compared to the kolkata biriyani. Quantity in 1 portion is enough for 2 people with medium apetite. It had 2 good sized chicken pieces. There was a hint of ghee. Overall it was flavourful with juicy chicken pieces. We generally think of Firni after biriyani but this time around we thought of a change and hence ordered shahi tukra. We were not expecting much but yes even here we were not dissapointed. The portion size was more than enough for the 2 of us. There was not much of presentation, it was served in normal steel plate. The thick layer of khoya on the top was delightful. Must try item. Overall it was a good experience and must recommended for Food Lovers :-)

We are about to forget the restaurant dining experience in the era of Zomato, Swiggy and other apps. I went to experience that in OUDH 1590 Saltlake. Their Tag Line - "Period Dining Experience". The atmosphere of the restaurant will remind you of the Nawabi period. Mainly the menu of the restaurant is decorated with the famous cuisines of Lucknow (Awadhi Region). Dishes, bowls, glasses, chandeliers and melodic ghazals all have the impression of that era. The whole thing can be called a theme. Now let's talk about food. There is a method of eating here. Don't make a random start. It is highly recommended to start with galauti kebab and parota. Even if you can also taste Shammi or Kakori Kebab. Parota is must with Galauti Kabab. Because that satisfies your taste bud. Soft kebabs will melt in your mouth. In the main course you can take OUDH Special Gost Handy Biryani (2 pieces mutton and two eggs) along with Bhuna Gost or Chicken Kundan Kalia or Mutton Rogan Josh. The rich food of great taste will stay with you. Though personally I didn't like the Biriyani much. There are other items too, take suggestions from the staff. Menu is available in Internet. Your meal should end with a Dessert Shahi Tukra(bread pudding). Pocket Pinch - Rs.1000 per head(Approx) There are many branches of OUDH 1590 in Kolkata. Recently one branch opened in Sodpur. Those who do not know about OUDH 1590, go and experience the Nawabi Khanapina.

This place is located in sector 1 of saltlake. This is one of the most authentic place for lucknowi khana in kolkata. There 2 or 3 more oudh outlet in the different places of the city. The interior of this place is awesome. The royal nawabi feeling is the theme of this restaurant. Every small part of the room is choosen and decorated keeping that in mind. One small point I noticed is even their AC has been colored exactly same way with the walls. The quality of the food was good. We ordered various things like chicken Seekh kebab, Galwati Kebab(mutton), Lucknowi paratha, Chicken Tandoor, Awadhi Mutton hundi biryani and Chicken Biryani, some gravy item of chicken. The paratha was awesome, it was so soft that it was just melting in the mouth. I have been to lucknow several times and know what real Galwati kebab tastes like, this place galwati was very good but not great compared to authentic ones. Still one can try that. Biryani was also not exceptional, it was good. One turn off for me was not providing onions after asking. One need to differently order for salad to get onion. I do not like buying extra salad because normally in india every restaurant provides onion in general. The place is good overall but the price was a bit high. Also, the quality of biryani I expected from such royal place is more better.
