|| Sky View Cafe - A Compact & Marvellous Rooftop ||
Rooftop is the new trend which is attracting the crowd because it's the place where you can converse in the other end with the same feeling of lounge. The main thing about the rooftop is the city view of skyline & everyone wants to enjoy a beer or hookah under the sky.
It is located in salt lake, sector 1 just near The Sonnet Hotel (opposite of Friday release/ Ambrosia restaurant). Very near to City Center 1 just 3mins drive from there. Valet parking is available in front of the hotel only. It's on the 9th floor of De Sovrani Hotel. Till 8th floor you will get lift & to reach the 9th i.e; roooftop you have use staircase.
Ambience is very attractive with moderate seating capacity. The view from side tables is more attractive. The use of live plants makes it look more plesant. I can assure you will like the place once you visit. Washrooms are maintained very good which is a great thing. The whole lighting in this place is deemed which gives the lounge environment.
In food I have -
Crispy Chicken in Chilly Basket : The chicken was sliced in small finger size then coated & deep fried. After frying it's tossed in chilly sauce with finely chopped onions & capsicum which makes it more spicy & gives a great texture.
Penne Alfredo : It's white sauce penne pasta. The taste of pasta was good with adequate amount of veggies. Even they used brocolli which is very unusual. The texture of which sauce perfect. Only the quantity of pasta is very less which little bit disappointed me. It cannot be shared properly among 2 persons.
Hookah prices are very average but liquor prices are on the higher side. Try their hookah you will love it becaus they make it awesome. Food prices are average but quantity is very less.
Overall experience was good with great hospitality. Seevice is also great. Recommended from my side because this is the rooftop with very...
Read moreWorst Experience Ever! This place completely ruined my first Valentine’s date! I had booked a table for a candlelight dinner at 9:30 PM, yet despite having a confirmed reservation, we had to wait over an hour to get a table.
The staff’s behavior, especially Mr. Aditya, was shockingly rude. When I asked about my reservation and the wait time, he rudely told me to cancel it instead of offering any assistance. Absolutely unprofessional!
To make matters worse:
One of the waiters was intoxicated and fooling around instead of serving properly. The staff was completely inexperienced and didn’t even know basic hospitality. It took 20–25 minutes just to get a glass of water after we finally got a table. The live music was a complete disaster—the singer was only performing Bengali folk songs without considering the diverse audience. It felt like they didn’t care at all about non-Bengali guests trying to enjoy their evening. And here’s the biggest joke—in the name of a "candlelight dinner" and "Cupid Date," they placed an old, battery-operated candle and a glass with a thermocol Cupid. False advertising at its finest!
To top it all off, they showcased a pool in their ambience section, but in reality, it was covered up, and I was literally sitting on top of it! How misleading can a place be?
The only saving grace was a female staff member who was helpful, but that alone couldn’t make up for the overall terrible experience.
If you’re planning to celebrate something special, DON’T EVEN THINK about coming here! They will ruin your day just like they ruined ours. Avoid this place...
Read moreWent there on a group of 7 ,on Saraswati pujo for lunch just to get disappointed.. If I get start with the list, the review would be an essay.. Staffs: The most ill-mannered, incompetent I've seen in visit to any of the restaurant/food joints.. A small underrated cafe has got a much better hospitality than what Skyview can't even claim of.. We called the staff thrice and he came and just went back without taking the order, pretending to be "busy" over phone call(the name's, Abhishek).. Finally when the order got placed, they messed up the order.. Another hour passed.. Asked for glasses of water, provided with only 6(as if to adjust for the 7 heads) .. Asked for an extra glass of water, the waiter just decided to ignore.. Asked for more tissues, came, took the tissue holder and gone forever.. Wasted 3 hours, merely waiting and being harassed by the staffs.. Asked for the bill and tried to cancel the order(as it was getting too late), they insisted us on waiting for a "bit" longer.. And gave the excuse about the "rush" of saraswati pujo.. Couldn't convince them that it wasn't the food/delay, it was the lack of competence amongst the staffs..
Food: Half of the things from menu were unavailable.. Overall quality of the food wasn't bad but not lip smacking also.. (Which could've been ignored had the staffs behaved properly)
Ambience: better not comment anymore.. Coz ambience solely won't fulfill a customer's appetite. .
PS:- wanted to give a zero rating.Fortunately, De Sovrani is saved from that disgrace due to app feature.. NOT WORTH FOR EVEN A ONE-TIME...
