I recently dined at Punjab Grill for a Saturday dinner, and while the experience had its highlights, overall, it was rather disappointing, especially considering the price point.
Ambience: The ambience of the restaurant was just okay. Located inside a big mall, it benefits from a prime location, but the decor and atmosphere didnāt quite live up to the expectations set by the high prices. It was a decent setting but nothing extraordinary that would make you feel like youāre getting a premium dining experience.
Starters and Drinks: We started our meal with the Murgh Tikka. Unfortunately, this dish was a letdown. The chicken was hard and lacked the tenderness youād expect from a well-prepared tikka. On the brighter side, the peach iced tea and lemonade were refreshing and enjoyable. However, the mango lassi failed to impress, lacking the creamy richness and authentic flavour one looks forward to in a traditional lassi.
Main Course: For the main course, we ordered a variety of breads including butter naan and garlic naan. These were quite good, soft and flavourful, but notably expensive for what they were. We also tried the Kadai Chicken, which, while tasty, was priced steeply and served in a disappointingly small portion. It felt like the quantity did not justify the cost, leaving us wanting more.
Desserts: To conclude our meal, we opted for the Phirni and Rasmalai. Sadly, these desserts did not meet our expectations. The Phirni lacked the creamy texture and rich flavour that make it a beloved dessert, and the Rasmalai was equally underwhelming.
Conclusion: In summary, while the location within a large mall might explain the higher prices at Punjab Grill, the quality of the food did not match up to the cost. The starters and desserts, in particular, left much to be desired. There were a few positive notes ā the beverages and naan were good ā but these alone do not justify the premium pricing. Overall, I left the restaurant feeling disappointed, and Iām not sure I would choose to dine there again given the numerous other options...

If I could give this dump a negative star rating, I would. Our experience was an unmitigated disaster, a culinary nightmare that left us feeling betrayed and disgusted. From the moment we entered, it was clear that this establishment has zero regard for its customers' time, comfort, or taste buds.
The seating arrangement is a joke, with only three tables accommodating groups larger than four. We were forced to wait for an agonizing hour, watching as other patrons received lackluster service. By the time we got a table, we were so fed up that we didn't even bother waiting for the staff to clean it. They treated us like beggars, expecting us to grovel for scraps.
Once seated, we were completely ignored. The staff seemed to be competing in a race to see who could avoid eye contact the longest. It took an eternity (20 minutes) just to get water, and another excruciating 20 minutes for someone to deign to take our order. By this point, we'd already wasted an hour and a half in this wretched excuse for a restaurant.
When the food finally arrived, the service was marginally faster, but only because we'd already been conditioned to expect glacial pacing. The cuisine itself was an insult: dull, unbalanced flavors and presentation that looked like a sad afterthought. The "veg biryani" was an affront to the very concept of biryani ā buttered rice with a few limp vegetables tossed in as an afterthought.
Portions? Laughable. Prices? Outrageous. We were duped by a 30% Zomato discount, but trust me, even a 100% discount wouldn't entice me to set foot in this dump again. This experience was a travesty, an affront to the very concept of dining out. If you value your sanity, time, money, and taste buds, stay far, far away from this catastrophe of...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOnce again, my recent dining experience at this restaurant outlet left much to be desired. The ambiance, which plays a significant role in setting the mood for a meal, was, unfortunately, less than satisfactory. The atmosphere lacked the inviting and comfortable elements that one expects when dining out, leaving me somewhat disappointed from the moment I walked in.
One of the aspects that can significantly affect a dining experience is the pace of service, and regrettably, it was rather slow on this visit. The delays in attending to our needs and taking our orders led to a sense of frustration, making it harder to fully enjoy the evening.
The heart of any restaurant experience lies in the quality of the food, and I must admit that I was let down by the sheek kebab and main course items. They failed to meet the standards I've come to expect from this establishment. The sheek kebab lacked the rich flavors and tenderness that make it a beloved dish, while the main course items fell short of the delectable tastes I've enjoyed in the past. I share these observations with the hope that the restaurant can take them as constructive feedback. It's essential for an establishment to maintain its ambiance, provide efficient service, and consistently deliver on the promise of delightful cuisine. I look forward to the opportunity to enjoy an improved dining experience during...
