I found out about the place a few weeks ago from Kaushik. I reached like that. name??? Guru's Kitchen which is quite viral at the moment. But even then I did not know that 30 kinds of food can be found here in 30 days. I heard that it is cooked by turning it back. I went mainly to eat meat with a pinch of salt. I don't know if any other place in Kolkata sells meat by pinching, but this shop does. So last Friday I went to look for that thing. Nah, seeing the shop will not bring devotion. But calling the store Gem would not be too wrong. There is a shop like this in Khas Tilottama beyond the glitz, so I regretted thinking why I did not visit it until now. I went and saw the owner of the shop frying paratha with his hands, it was late afternoon. Find out what will happen??? No, Chuijhal did not happen that day.So I can't think too much about what to take, then the sound and smell of biting the leg piece from the side. "The mind says 'eat and eat', the mouth goes to eat" So I sat down to eat Polao (₹30/plate), 1 piece of chicken (₹25) and 1 piece of mutton (₹55) (so that I could taste all of them). Back to school tiffins have become a seasoned arrangement and...
Read moreThis place is quietly serving a good quality of home comfort food at reasonable rate. The popular combo of Basanti Pulao & Mutton kalabhuna was good, although there was a scope of improvement in terms of doneness of mutton. The level of spiciness was on fiery note. Caution alert for people who can't tolerate the spiciness level. The maida porotha was soft & served warm. Also tried the Palak chicken from the menu which was lip smacking delicious with the subtleness of spices & spinach itself. The menu is cyclic with daily changes. But above all the behaviour of Guru Da is something which is beyond description. A soft spoken gentleman with a penchant of serving home comfort food to...
Read moreThe main attraction of this food joint is that this place serves 30 different food items in 30 days. Everyday has new menu as compared to last day. No single menu repeats other day. The main item is mutton kala bhuna. Bhuna is originally a Bangladeshi cooking style. It is slow cooking style in low film. It's good to have mutton kala bhuna in street food that also at affordable cost. There is no compromise on food quality. One of the hidden gem in Kolkata Street food. The man behind this whole arrangement is Guru da, who single handedly cook all the items which is really appreciated.
