Acharekar's Malvan Katta is a place in Dadar specially for non-vegetarians 🍗 and majorly Marathi's you will find here enjoying/exploring their taste buds. The place has a variety of sea food 🦀 server and made in Malvan style. I think they started with Katta (stall) and later expand it for a small restaurant and now into much better and bigger restaurant.
I did not enjoy the food I'll say, the first reason will be when I ordered Tawa fried Prawns 🍤 it was not crunchy at all and there was no taste, it was blant, not spicy, not tangy, nothing. It was served along with Coconut 🥥 chatni. Further, we ordered Bharwa (Filled) Pomfret 🐠 it was also very blant (same coconut chatni was filled inside which was served with prawns, it was properly cooked, properly covered with rawa and masala but could not taste the malwan spice in it. Further, we tried Tisriya (shells 🐚) we found a lot of it empty and we specifically asked the staff 🧑💼 to make it spicy 🔥 so he said not possible with Gravy we can make the dry one spicy 🥵 (I did not understand why gravy cannot be made spicy) but we agreed for dry one, now in this we literally felt that a red chilli powder 🌶️ was added from top and mixed before serving we could not enjoy it at all. We also ordered Bombil Thali (the quantity was really good for Bombil) but no spicy 🔥 here as well.
Overall I won't recommend this place if someone is looking for some spicy or tangy food however if you are looking for something simple, not so masala but good sea food, this is a...
Read moreAcharekar’s Malvani Katta is a hidden gem for anyone craving authentic Malvani cuisine. From the moment we walked in, the warm and inviting atmosphere made us feel right at home. The staff were friendly and attentive, guiding us through the menu with helpful suggestions.
The highlight of our meal was the mutton – tender, flavorful, and perfectly spiced. You could tell the recipe was crafted with care and a deep understanding of traditional Malvani cooking. We were really looking forward to trying their famous wade, but sadly, they had run out by the time we got there. It was a bit disappointing, but it’s also a testament to how popular they are.
Portion sizes were generous, and the freshness of the ingredients was evident in every bite. We also enjoyed the sol kadhi, which was a refreshing and tangy complement to the rich flavors of the meal.
One area where Acharekar’s could improve is the parking situation. It’s a bit tricky to find a spot, especially during peak hours, which can be frustrating. If they could sort out a more convenient parking solution, it would make the overall experience even better.
All in all, Acharekar’s Malvani Katta is definitely worth a visit if you’re in the mood for some delicious, home-style Malvani food. Just make sure to get there early to avoid missing out on popular dishes...
Read moreदादर सारख्या भागात इतकं बेचव मालवणी जेवण अपेक्षित नाही ! Went to have dinner on sunday with family waited for 1 hr approximately. Then they took 3 - 4 more waiting numbers including us to the banquet hall* located on the 1st floor of the restaurant where some tables were arranged and some basic sitting arrangements were done. The main thing here was the taste because just before the renovation I’ve had dinner at the same place and I was shook that the taste which I came back for was vanished the mutton was stale and uncooked, the (वाटण)(masala for mutton) was raw and had 0 taste, while serving there was a hair resting on the mutton, bombil fry was too salty. The fish curry was just watery with no flavour at all. Crab lollipops tasted something different and flavourless. Fish finger had the same problem as the crab lollipops no flavour. Out of all dishes Tisrya sukhha was average. And the last chicken biryani was with chicken pieces which were raw and with the same raw coconut (वाटण). Not worthy of spending hard earned money.Never going to this place again for sure. I am malvani too and this is not...
