Now I am very mindful of the fact that somewhere or the other we all are a mix of consumers and service providers stuff like that and I have full respect for the owners and at no point I intend to bring them down and make them feel anything else, but take it as a positive feedback to Change what is wrong with your establishment. Otherwise food is pretty good. Maybe the portion size could have been better, but let me begin from the beginning.. We were greater nicely and seated, but very strangely the table for six was arranged in a way that one table was at higher level. In the other table. I’ve come for a fine experience okay and this is not what I would have liked. Your chairs are so uncomfortable As the back Rest is minimal, so I think I ended up feeling very very uncomfortable during the entire meal, which was supposed to be a birthday meal with a friend. Going on to the next part, which is placing the order. Now when we were talking about drinks, our guest did not want the regular. Whatever drinks you had to offer, but we did want to have the Coke Sharbat and I think it’s called Sol kari, so I’m dictating this, so there will be some minor slips while I’m dictating this message, so do forgive me for that. So this guy who is taking our order. He kind of assumed at one point that we told him to get four of the glasses and before leaving, he said something like final Hai Na, and it was in such a manner that it was really rude to which my husband was like. What did you just say, and even I ended up, calling him back and saying what did you say, and he said I was just confirming if this is your you know order Now when we invite people over they will there is bound to be some conversation where there will be flip-flops and we are thinking what you want to order and whether should be cold or room temperature. So the waiter the person who is taking the order has to have immense patience while taking the order this guy had zero patients appeared. I’m sorry to say it was almost like drunk and some high horse, who as if you know you are doing me a favour by taking my order. Anyways he left and the order that we received was very delicious. I think freshly prepared to as said by the person in charge that is all freshly made, but we are asked for room temperature and a room temperature and a mix of gold that was not taken care of. We got cold All four glasses cold. . Our order, which was I think went smoothly, whatever orders we placed, but to tell you what happened they serve the upper before bringing the main dishes and the upper are turned cold. By the time they started serving us the main dishes, the main dishes there was lot more gravy than the meat. I don’t know. Maybe this is your way of controlling portion, but you know if six of us are eating the dishes. Just look like measly platter is anyways, the taste was outstanding, so I will not complain about that. The service was actually I think not really that good except for that short gentleman who was trying to do his best, and then there was spectacle gentleman who had probably the duty of greeting the guess he was also alright, but I asked for water at least three times that did not come to my table. I was actually you know thirsty Rather as say thirsty for water. That was something strange because you got 45 people running around and not too much crowd, it seem to be a day, which was just a regular Tuesday with hardly any people around, but this is the service which left me unhappy. . Then of course, they came suggestion of a variety of breads. I think your Malabar Paratha was good. It was too flaky because when you break it and you try to grab a piece of fish with it, you can’t grab it because that’s the way it is you know built, so I think there you need some improvement know maybe it’s tasty, but it’s not something which you can eat. I mean, I don’t become a fork and knife and eat Right so that improvement can be done.

Read moreWe visited Coast and Bloom at Dadar's Kohinoor Mall. The ambience is nice and quiet and the food is good. The staff Ashish Gaud was exceptionally sweet and nice while serving us. However there were three points I would like to point out which left us with a slight bitter taste :
We had ordered two thalis and few ala carte items. We were four people in all with two people having the thali. It was not communicated to us at the start that the rice and kokum curry is unlimited. We thought the rice that came to be served later was the fixed dedicated quantity that comes in with each thali - which is usually how it is for the fish thali places we have visited and given there was no communication of the unlimited part we did not know. Since my parents could not finish the rice, the other two of us consumed it. The other senior server then intervened signaling to the server that it cannot be served to us. It just made things a little odd. This point of what is unlimited and what is not- should be communicated. Either you communicate it to the customer at the start or then do not make things odd .Because unlike Gujarati or Rajasthani Thalis a fish thali/ crab thali/ prawn thalis are usually fixed one - time items. They did came and say that they can serve more rice but by then things did get a bit odd for us as customers to discuss it. They were not bad about it but there was an oddness to that experience.
We were to pay the bill via the Zomato app with a 10% discount. We had booked the place prior. However when the bill came : the thalis were not part of the 10% discount and given as a separate bill to be paid without the discount. I do not know if this is mentioned on Zomato or by the restaurant. However this seemed a little off. But this is a point for any future customer going there.
There was service tax applied to both the bills given to us. I usually get the service charge removed and leave a tip. We asked for the service charge to be removed. At first one person said it cannot be removed. I was told he was new. Then another person came and said that there is a board mentioned outside about them levying a service charge. I then told him as per the last court ruling, irrespective of the restaurant declaring the service charge via a board, they have to remove it if the customer asks. I told him it is illegal. To which he said 'If I do not want to pay , he can get it removed'. He was not rude but he was a tad defensive. We paid the service charge on one bill and got it removed from the other. Point is : All the staff should be familiar with the rule so it does not result in a big discussion.
These three points left us with an odd taste with the experience. Speaking of food, ambience it was decent....
