Location: This restaurant is located in Churchgate at just 5 minutes of walking distance from railway station.
About Place: Foo, an innovative venture by Tham Brothers who are also the brains behind the famous Koko, good wife; has already been the talk of the town from the time it replaced California Pizza Kitchen in Phoenix Lower Parel. Foo town which is opened in Churchgate, is a restaurant with vibrant ambience consisting of well spreaded comfortable seating arrangements and backlit wooden screen giving bar a classy look. Foo town serves some really drooling tapas consisting of Chinese, Japanese and mixed Asian small plates. The food served over here is a beautiful outcome of Japanese culinary arts. The vast range of drinks over here makes it a perfect place to choose for a hangout with your pals.
Having said that Foo is one of our favourite restaurants and we visited this outlet some days ago for a dinner. The restaurant has a very good vibe which starts right from a warm welcome from the staff. The restaurant has outside seating arrangement which is preferred by us and also an indoor seating arrangement near the bar. The staff over here is extremely polished and well mannered. They know their dishes upto the mark and will guide you. Mr. Rohan, Sadashiv and the manager were extremely enthusiastic and helpful in making sure that our experience was a memorable one. So moving further we ordered a quite a few drinks and some food to binge on. They serve 4 types of dips or sauces to have along with your food which consists of oil and paprika, green chilli and vinegar, assam sauce and a brown sauce and a pot of soy sauce. Here are the details of the food we had..
DRINKS
Fresco: A signature tangy mocktail made from Guava and pineapple juice with mint, rosemary, lime and ginger ale added to it. It was refreshing and good to taste.
Tropical Grass Iced tea: We never had a drink with basil flavour and that was mainly the reason to try this one. It is and iced tea with Lemongrass, basil, lime and black tea. It was sweet and delicious to taste. Highly Recommended..!!
FOOD
Miso Soup: When you get a Miso soup in Jain all you do is just order it. We ordered both the versions of miso soup which had a flavour of fermented soyabean and cubes of tofu. Obviously the non jain version was the winner but if you are Jain and haven't tried Miso soup you have to order it. Highly Recommended..!!
Veg Foo Yam Bean Uramaki: Its a sushi roll with blue rice on outer side and tempura, yam bean, avocado on inside and spicy crisps on top of it. It was served on a layer of sauce which complimented the sushi well. The wasabi over here is just perfect. Loved it .!!
Jain Nikkei Avocado Uramaki: This one is a jain sushi roll with avocado and parmesan as the major ingredients. It was cheesy and delicious to taste. It tasted well with soy sauce.
Spicy Tofu Dumpling: These are packet full of flavours. It is not that spicy but for Japanese cuisine it is spicy. The dumplings are soft and tender. Tastes best when had it hot. Eat them with assam sauce or green sauce.
Foo Broccoli Dumpling: This dumpling was available in Jain hence ordered, and trust me we didn't regret it. We never had such delicious jain dumplings anywhere. The Dumpling was sweet and cheesy to taste. Do not miss this one..!! Order it without thinking and you won't regret. Highly Recommended..!!
Avocado on Crisps: Slices of Avocado served on crisps with a bed of wasabi mayo. It was good to taste but can be skipped.
Foo Blue Butter Japanese Fried Rice with Foo yellow curry Jain: As a main course we ordered the signature blue rice along with yellow curry. The blue rice is prepared by slowly cooking rice along with butterfly pea flower which gives a blue colour to rice. It is tossed in butter along with veggies. It goes well with the yellow curry which is a coconut curry consisting of water chestnuts, Broccoli and zucchini. It tasted heavenly. The blue fried rice also...

1️⃣ FOO ASIAN BURRATA ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The Burrata was so fresh, light and tasty. It went well with the avocado, cherry tomatoes, lettuce with a lentil and palm sugar smear at the bottom. Tip : Have all the ingredients together

✔️MUST HAVE ✔️
What flavors simply outstanding. Blue butter rice with crispy tempura, avocado and yam bean.

🙅Avoidable🙅
4️⃣ SPICY TOFU DUMPLING ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Perfect mix, fresh tofu and spices. Tasty dumplings
5️⃣ SPICY THAI LOTUS ROOT ⭐⭐⭐1/2
Crispy lotus roots perfectly tossed. Nothing wrong with this dish but was similar to what you get in other places.
6️⃣ FRESH COTTAGE CHEESE WITH FOO CHILLY OIL ⭐⭐⭐
The cheese was perfect but the chilly oil was too tangy for my liking.
🙅Avoidable🙅
