Horrible food - horrible service - horrible everything! 5 of us ordered a lot of food so I can confidently say it's not worth the try! mushroom taco: was so weird in texture and had no taste mushroom panuchos: so unbalanced and just horrible chicken taco: idk if was a fusion of chicken tikka with pineapple and cheese.. why was there cheese on my taco :s -guac with texturas: am still confused why there were bañan chips given with my guac ... guac was fresh the only decent thing. The guac foam on the other hand again lacked zest lobster taco: smelled weird and just all over zero flavour salmon ceviche: decent but again nothing great at all queso potatoes: it's cheese and potatoes so that itself is decent but again very very very average Drinks ordered wine, a watermelon mezcalita which looked like it was lying on the bar for 8-9 hours ...1-2 more drinks as bad as the others ... we left the aciphol too witg the food .. was that bad !! Service Ahhh... the greeters were sweet. The servers on the other hand lack knowledge of the most basic things! Our server told us to STOP ORDERING MORE FOOD BECAUSE THE TABLE IS SMALL!! He literally didn't let us place more food order for which I'm grateful because it would all go to waste but he literally kept saying don't order more don't order more where will it fit on table:/ that's the weirdest thing to say to customers. The other server again lacked basic knowledge and warmth. When asked for recommendation said eveything is good ... just very bad attitude. We told them how bad the food is ... they couldn't care less or even bother to make any attempts to rectify. Horrible horrible horrible ! I cannot stress this enough. Please don't go here and waste your money. There's. Shiv Sagar right next to this restaurant. Please go there instead. I've never had worst food this year ... such a disappointment. Another Mexican attempt gone wrong in Bombay. Please don't open these restaurants if you're not willing to make an effort to actually have your food edible and atleast decent. Lacked flavour lacked balance and overall just left...
Read moreFinally stopped by mezcalita and it did not disappoint, had my eye on them pre opening pretty much from the moment I heard about chef pablo. Then I saw the menu and knew I had to visit—aguachile’s panucho’s and tortas told me all I needed to know. And tortas de chilaquiles?! 🤩
It was a really hot afternoon and I didn’t have the appetite for a big plate but tacos? I always hunger for.
What we ate-
Fish tacos - delicious, the avo crema perfectly fried fish, really enjoyed this one.
Chile con nachos - for the table, we really really wiped this clean, do not miss it.
Lamb burrito (wrapped) Wasn’t my order but he seemed to enjoy it and the guac that came with was certainly delish.
Ps- the house sauces are all 👌 on point we wanted bottles of everything to take home; but we settled for ‘hot damn hot sauce’ for sale, the house sauces - in small fresh batches for sale tho? Necesitamos pronto 😌
Churros- some seriously great churros 🫶 fluffly, crunchy & the sauces along side were delicious too.
What we drank-
Agua de Jamaica - my fav Mexican beverage aside from mezcal and tequila ofc 🤭 it was a well made one and loved the glass it was served in too.
Verde fizz- lemony and refreshing
Overall we really enjoyed the food drinks & vibe, definitely seems like a place to hit for dinner or drinks, ambience wise. That said good food is for anytime of the day and a good lunch goes a long way.
Will definitely be back to eat my way through the menu (given I’m on the other side of town, it may not be as soon as I’d like but I will surely be back.) If you live in town & are looking for some new eats; or even just a spot for drinks with friends—check out mezcalita. And if you’re deverdad a lover of comida mexicano —You gotta visit;...
Read moreIf you're craving a nacho-average dining experience, look no further than Mezcalita! This restaurant is nacho ordinary spot—it's a spicy oasis where flavors dance and every bite brings a fiesta to your taste buds. Our culinary journey started with the Nachos con Chile with Chicken, where crispy tortilla chips took a dip in a piping hot chili pool, drizzled with truffle oil, and paired with a cooling salsa and sour cream. It was nacho average appetizer; each bite was a crunchy, creamy delight! Next up, the Deadly Spicy Habanero made quite a prawnouncement. These tempura-coated prawns in a fiery habanero sauce were a scorching sensation, mellowed perfectly by the sweet tang of pineapple. If you can handle the heat, this dish is shrimply the best! The Fish Taco was a reel winner, featuring a perfectly fried fish fillet nestled in a soft tortilla, dressed with chipotle mayo and avocado hummus. It was so fin-tastic, we could hardly believe our luck! The Chicken Torta de Chilaquiles was a crunchy, cheesy masterpiece. The fried chicken and tortilla chips in guajillo sauce, topped with sour cream and Oaxaca cheese, made every bite a torta-lly amazing experience although the chicken seemed a bit overcooked and felt chewy. To cool down, the Mango Mule Cooler was a refreshing tropical escape, while the Horchata offered a sweet, creamy embrace. For a fizzy finish, the Verde Fizz with grapefruit and green apple soda left us bubbling with joy. The cherry on top of this delightful dining experience was a visit from El Chefe Juan Pablo himself, who ensured everything was to our satisfaction. His passion for the craft was palpable, adding a personal touch to our mez-merizing meal.
Overall, Mezcalita is a place where every dish is a star, and every bite makes you want to come back for more. We can't wait to mez-see you...
