Finding a classy Gujarati restaurant in Matunga is difficult. And Rangoli is a hidden gem – Situated on the 2nd floor in Matunga Gujarati Club, Near Don Bosco School, Matunga East. This 62 seater restaurant serving Mexican, Thai, Continental, Chinese and Indian cuisines is very popular among the youth.
If you are not a member of the Gujarati Club, then you have to pay an entry fee of Rs. 30 (and Rs. 40 for weekends). The place is usually crowded on the weekends but it is totally worth the wait.
Upon entering the restaurant, I was stunned by the ambience. The place was very well lit and the decor was warm, appealing and soothing to the eyes. The grand door opens into a long passage with tables on both the sides. With soft music playing in the background and comfortable seating arrangements, I had a great evening at Rangoli. The ambience truly elevated the dining experience. And the authentic delicacies make the search for ideal dine fare end here.
Pure Vegetarian Restaurant With Wifi Parking Available Multi-Cuisine Authentic Gujarati cuisine Suitable for families Comfortable Seating Area Hygienically maintained Flavourful dishes Affordable Centrally located Cozy and Appealing Ambience Commendable A La Carte dishes Clean and Spacious Prompt Service Friendly and Very polite staff Tastes like homemade food Very nice hospitality
Sauce, Chutney, Lemon and Pickles are served on all the tables and the presentation of food is very unique and different. The food was very tasty, not greasy and hygienically prepared which added a home-made touch to it. The food is freshly prepared with top quality ingredients and the restaurant was well-maintained.
The menu was very easy to understand, with side-notes to locate the required page.
The Tomato Dhaniya Shorba Soup is a must try. It is prepared with tomatoes, fresh cream and coriander and was served with crunchy croutons. The Hara Bhara Awadhi, Paneer Ajawaini Tikka and Exotic Vegetables are amazing among the starters. They were mouth-watering and were two of my favourites. Paneer 65 (Paneer pieces with a sweet, spicy, tandoori flavour served with curd) is a must-try. The array of delectable dishes from around the world include signature dishes like The Rangoli Club Sandwich, served along with fries. It is made of tomato, cucumber, grilled lettuce, bell pepper, zucchini and has an Amul cheese slice.
The Pizza Gardenia is loaded with mozzarella cheese, grilled bell pepper, zucchini and corn. Island Desire and Pina Colada are amazing. You must definitely try them. I, then, tried the Penny Cheese Miano Pasta. For the main course, I had the Shahi Malai Kofta and Kaju Paneer Makhanwala. The Shahi Malai Kofta is a rich paneer dumpling stuffed with mix fruits and loaded with cashew nuts. The Kaju Paneer Makhanwala had whole cashews and paneer cooked in a rich gravy and was served with lots of grated cheese. Both the dishes were filling and worth the value for money.
The Rangoli Special Tawa Pulao had rice cooked to perfection with cashew nuts and coriander leaves sprinkled on the top. The Chilly Cheese Kulcha was the best as it was not too spicy yet very flavourful. The Cheese Garlic Naans had a good amount of cheese on them and they win over among the naans.
For Dessert, We had Gulab Jamuns with Chocolate Sauce. These were the most delicious Gulab Jamuns I’ve ever had! I just didn’t want it to end, haha! And, we finished off with Buttermilk.
Having an extensive food and drinks menu with exceptional dishes made Rangoli a true Culinary Delight. The high quality food, excellent service & value for money enables the customers to get quality products; served quickly, with a smile in an air conditioned, clean, hygienic, pleasant and attractive environment.

PURI and Ghee ROTLA. Steam RICE and Matar PULAV JALJIRA Drink, and ofcourse CHAAS! Papad and Salad ! . OUR REVIEW - The experience was surreal, with the taste reminding the roots of Gujarat. The flavours were PURELY TRADITIONAL - ekdum Maa k haath wala swaad! . Dhokla was super fluffy, Khandvi was totally melt in mouth and the stuffed pakoda was crisp, and filled with masalas. . The chaat was totally street style, and mouthwatering. . The sabzis were sweet, tangy, spicy and a mixture of flavours. . The Dal was sweet, and the kadhi was spicy, and thick. . The rice was long grain basmati, and matar pulav was relishing. . Puris were hotly served, and the Rotla was loaded with ghee! . JALJIRA Drink was a total refreshment, and the Chaas total relief in this summer! . The Rasgulla ( literally craving more rn) were so spongy, exactly how it should be! Aamras is an...
