I usually try not to judge restaurants in India based on what they look like, since I've occasionally sampled great food at places that might need a new coat of paint or two. This particular restaurant definitely needs a new coat of paint (or wallpaper, at least), but it might also help if the glass door didn't seem to be held together by tin foil,l. Regardless, India's India and books can't be judged by their covers. I visited with a friend, and we ordered rice, dal makhani and veg. Kolhapuri. About the only thing I wanted more of was the rice. The makhani had too much heat to it, and the kolhapuri was swimming in oil. Needless to say, I'm not visiting again. The fact that the waiters decided to have a loud argument amongst the guests doesn't say much about the restaurant, either. Finally, I think they turned away two sets of guests (parties of 2 and 4) who wanted to sit in the A/C room. Apparently, filling an 8-seater table (a makeshift one at that, comprising a 6 seater and a 2-seater, side-by-side) at a future time is more important than a guest that is looking for a seat right...

Tavaa is one of the oldest hotel on the busy lanes of Bandra, serving delicious Mughlai cuisine. It has indoor as well as outdoor seating. Ambience is well lit and has very rustic & ancient touch in it. Service is prompt & pricing is easy on pockets
