I ordered a cake for mother's day on the app of theobroma (malad west branch) a day prior and paid by gpay....also the online app did not accept cod...(very smart)..my delivery time was set for 10 to 11 am the next day. I called them at 12.30 pm they said it's on the way.... that they could not find a delivery partner...now that to is my problem(mind you this is like calling the helpline after 5 attempts where most of the time they say the number can't be reached and holding...for them to check for 10 mins) After that no news so I called another number where she keeps me on hold for 5 mins pls and the call drops( the call connects and 5 to 7 mins till the executive actually reaches u and after that again your placed on hold till they check with the outlet) In the meantime I get the Malad west outlet number and call them...the number is switched off Now it's almost 2.30 and I call the helpline again...again she chks with the outlet....now it's a new story....the cake I ordered is over due to high demand and they are trying to arrange from another outlet...so that means the first ti they lied.....also after booking it a day inadvance and paying for it...I had to cancel my lunch too as I'm not sure when they will deliver it....if I had placed the order via zomato or swiggy atleast I could raised a query....I'm here I'm stuck....pathetic Still waiting So I'm updating my review at 7.03pm....now I got my cake saying that their systems have crashed.....3...

Delicious Treats Let Down by Poor Cleanliness

Theobroma in Malad offers a truly delightful selection of pastries, brownies, cakes and savouries. Whether you're in the mood for a gooey brownie, a flaky puff or a rich slice of cake, the assortment here never disappoints. The quality of the food is consistently excellent and the service is warm and prompt.

However, the experience was marred by a noticeable lack of cleanliness in the seating area. When I visited, I told the person at the counter that I would be dining in. Even then, I had to specifically request that they clean the table I wished to sit at. Out of just five tables in the café, three were left cluttered with partially eaten food and used trays. Bits of food were even on the floor.

Although the staff did respond once I pointed it out and proceeded to clean not just my table but the ones nearby as well, it was disappointing that it wasn’t taken care of proactively. Walking into a café and finding more than half the tables in such a state is not something one expects from a brand like Theobroma. It dampens the mood and detracts from the otherwise enjoyable experience.

Final thoughts: Theobroma continues to impress with its food and friendly service but they must pay more attention to maintaining cleanliness in the café. First impressions count and a clean space is just as important...

I recently visited Theobroma, Malad West, and indulged in two of their classics – the Millionaire Brownies and the Chocolate Walnut Brownie. Both lived up to the hype and made the experience memorable.
