We had visited this restaurant in the afternoon just about lunchtime and so we found it to be almost full. The restaurant is located just outside Dadar railways station east.
Now coming straight to the food, we had ordered the Veg. Thali which cost us Rs. 175 and contains 2 Puri/ 2 Chapati/ 2 Roti (anyone out of the 3), 1 plate of steamed rice/ jeera rice/ veg. pulao (anyone out of the 3), Dal fry, 1 Paneer preparation, 1 Veg. Kurma, and the regular papad and pickle. Now the first problem is that if these guys are serving limited thali then there should be no reason to write "sharing is not allowed". Upon that, if you see the rules in menu card if you want an extra plate and a spoon you need to pay them Rs. 7 extra. This was absurd and I have never seen any restaurant asking customers to pay for an extra plate or a spoon.
The next thing was the attitude of the waiters. It was as if they are the owner of the restaurant and we are asking for free food. Upon that the quantity of the food considering the cost. The Beg. kurma hardly contained anything else except capsicum and garlic and was way spicier than it should have been. The only great thing we found in the thali was the Veg. Pulao and the Paneer preparation which was absolutely delicious. 1 Star out of the 3 is for these two items.
Finally unable to suffice two of us we had to order an extra plate of Puri Bhaji. The Puri bhaji was good to taste and even the coconut chatni served with it taste delightful. 1 Star for this. And the last 1 star is for the cleanliness they maintain. Apart from that I really did have a below average experience with the cost, quantity and waiters behavior. Keep this restaurant only last as there are many better restaurants you can...

Dont you limit yourself by the name as you get not only southindian but maharashtrian, bengali, punjabi as well as chinese delicacies right here. Its located just a min walk from dadar central station and is always crowded with big time foodies. The recent launch of Punjabi and Chinese Cuisine is really impressive
What all I tried Paneer Tikka: the Fresh malai Paneer marinated in indian spices and grilled to perfection with tomato onion and capsicum served with green chutney was a wholesome experience. Loved the last in every bit.
Next up for mains we had Veg Maharaja: A very creamy gravy made with goodness of fresh cream and in it sits the veg Maharaja koftas. The koftas were power packed woth flavours and lot of veggies. The gravy accompanied with the kofta.
Veg Amrutsari: this is paneer based vegetable which will give you pure Amrutsari vibes as it has punjab spices and red thick gravy coating paneer
Along with the mains we tried Butter Naan and Tandoor Roti. I must say these breads were one of the best. It has perfect crispness and butter.
Not to forget, you must try Sitaphal Milkshake when in Udipi made with real fruit extract. The pulp of sitaphal was evidently present in the creamy Milkshake.
To end our meal we opted for Gajar Halwa. The halwa is freshly made in here topped with dry fruits and goodness of ghee can be felt in every bite.
They do have nice chinese stuff like paneer chilly, manchurian and variety of fried rice. They have a sweet counter where different peda, barfi and Bengali sweet awaits you.
So visit and try out soulfillinh...
Read moreThis restaurant is located diagonally opposite Dadar Central Railway Station and shares the management with its famous next door neighbor, Rishi Beer Bar.
The restaurant has an air-conditioned and non-air-conditioned section. The ambience is nothing to write about, just like any other pocket friendly Udipi restaurant. Due its proximity to the Railway Station, this restaurant is always hustling with patrons.
I had ordered the following:
BATATA WADA MISAL This dish was a visual treat; a Wada placed on a bed of farsan, a couple of Pav on a side dish and the gravy served in a small bucket. The Wada was lovely to taste; soft & mushy with the correct amount of spices. They sell a hell lot of Wada Pav’s across the counter. The gravy was very spicy and quite surprisingly so. I have not come across such a spicy Misal at any Udipi restaurant but at the same time I could not fathom the reason for such spicy gravy. I didn’t quite like it though.
TOMATO OMLETTE A nice dish which is prepared with some heart and tastes nice as well. RECOMMENDED
UPMA They serve a nice plate of melt-in-the-mouth Upma which is very mild on your palate & not very oily also. They chutney that accompanies the Upma is very nice. RECOMMENDED
SABUDANA WADA They had shaped the Sabudana Wada like a Medu Wada but it was very oily and lacked the punch that a authentic Sabudana Wada gives.
Service is very fast & efficient as they handle a high customer turnover.
Prices are very economical.
This restaurant offers some decent quality food at some affordable prices and thereby a value for money...
