This place suits its location to the T! Situated in Delhi's poshest market, Andrea's B & B is a hallmark for a restaurant. Just stepping into it makes you feel the the overall chic vibe that is totally intimate as well as elegant which made us forget that we ventured on one of the hottest summer afternoons in June.
The place is decorated so plush with thoughtful paintings all over the blue & white walls as if borrowed from a European set piece. A little bit of fun & quirkiness is added through the cat printed chairs along with the blue velvet ones. All this really makes you look forward to the food that is served in quite liberal portions by most humble staff. We were quick to order for our Mocktails (the bar license is still awaited) and the first round of appetizers that included - asparagus avocado parcels, Sichuan wonton pokchoy mushrooms, tacos fajita - chicken & cottage cheese both, lamb chops, crunchy katafi prawns & last but not least the smoked salmon cream cheese & avocado rolls. All 4 of us were famished and seeing all these food we jumped on them like something! Each dish was more joyful than the other. The Smoked Salmon Cheese rolls were sensational and the best start to the humongous food layout that lied ahead of us. The persian lamb chops were grilled to a medium temper with dipped and the jus along with it was the best I have come across. The avocado parcels wrapped in a phyllo pastry made it unbelievably soft & buttery indeed.
The menu actually captures the best of global food & the thing that caught our eye amongst all this is that each dish has been curated so well by the Chef & his team. Next up were an array of salads which included the Super Green Salad from the veg & SPQR Ceaser Salad in the non veg respectively. Both were wholesome in their savoriness which was textured with wide range of toppings. The Burrata & Marinated Tomates Pizza is an highly recommended option in case you are into cream cheese. The thin crust sops the creamy Burrata very well mixed with somewhat juicy tomates in a pleasently messy manner that makes it really platable. So was the Spinach Ricotta Ravioli & the Potato Rösti Zurichoise! While the Rooshtii as it is pronounced, is a classic example of a potato pancake served with asparagus, broccoli & mushrooms with minimal possible cream & the handmade Raviolis was ravishing with cherry tomato ragout & pinenuts! We were full to brim but we had the desserts to look ahead to which is another exceptional part of the menu not to be missed at any cost. We were unlucky not to have the Chocolate Bomb which is most highly recommended at this place but it was sold out. So we ordered for the Cremino & New York Cheesecake and they were as excellent & prudent as they could be.
Big thanks to the management for the kind of hospitable treatment we received especially from Mr Ashwin who was so glad to serve us & for keeping us entertained as well! Look ahead to visit soon again with family & friends for there is a lot left to be explored from...
Read moreOn my last shopping trip , I checked into this new Bar and Brasserie.
The place is small like most eateries here but the service is great and the ambience is plush and elegant which immediately seems to encourage conversations and relaxation. The cuisine is mostly Asian and Italian and Mediterranean .
The bar was not functioning yet , so that was a bit disappointing . Anyways , we settled for Fresh Lime Soda and Orange , Chia Seeds and Sweet Basil Fresca whcih were enough to reinstate the fluid balance in our dehydrated selves.
For starters ,we had
Chciken Shish Taouk - A 5 spice marinated Chicken Thigh roasted and served with herbs, tahini, garlic mayo ,citrus salad, crisp Pita The mayo and tahini were so good ! Fresh salad of roasted tomatoes and pickles on the side with generous roast chicken ( you have to specify how well done you want it keeping in mind the international style of cooking ).
Soft Tacos – served with Fajita Cottage cheese freshly prepared guacamole, cilantro tomato salsa and sour cream Recommended ! Everything was perfect in these tacos .
MAINS
Exotic roasted veg thin crust pizza ,black olives ,jalapeno ,bell peppers ,zucchini ,sun-dried tomatoes The best part was that the thin crust was not dry as they tend to get and it was loaded with veggies. The sun dried tomatoes tasted better than what I generally find in some kitchens. An average dish !
Super Bowl Krapow - This had Silken Tofu, Pok Choy and Veggies falvoured with Thai Basil and Bird's Eye Cili on a bed of Jasmine Rice. I asked them to keep the chili medium and this Bowl really stood out , you could smell the Thai Basil as the dish was coming to our table ! I could go back for this dish itself . Highly Recommend !
DESSERTS
Cremino – Amaretto soaked in coffee with layers of Bavarian Mascarpone and dusted with Cacao . This dish was heavy on the Mascarpone and the bitterness of coffee and begged for some tart relief and little more sweetness .Topped with two tiny biscuits, the texture was Ok .
This was the only dish that I did not like much from all that we had.
Chocolate Dome – The Flourless warm Chocolate cake was served with Fiordelatte Gelato and a sprinkling of Almond crumble over luscious Callebaut Ganache .This dessert was to die for and despite the guilt of the calories we could not resist and ended up leaving not even a crumble on the plate !
Loved It !
All in All , do try this out , for a relaxed lunch and some great food , do remember to tell the chef about your preferences and you will in for a...
Read moreI am generally sceptical about going to any restaurant in Khan Market because most of them are popular due to the real estate and location, rather than the food. Andrea's, alas, fell into the same category. It was one of the places open for dine-in, and after reading multiple good reviews about their pizza and pasta, decided to check it out.
The place wore a completely deserted look, there was nothing wrong with it, but it felt very dead. The interiors, to my taste, are a little bit tacky with their leopard prints and busy decor. The first thing i noticed was that the glasses for water, the plates and cutlery were covered with cling wrap. I'm not really sure what purpose this serves, and sure it's a pet peeve, but I do believe its a criminal usage and waste of plastic and I wish the management would find a more sustainable option to ward off the dust and/or virus.
We ordered a Margherita pizza and Lebanese chicken platter. The pizza sauce was a tab bit too salty to my liking, the crust was chewy, and it did not spark any joy while eating. The chicken in the platter was cooked well, but the hung curd dip was again way too salty. The pita bread which came in the platter was not baked very well and also did not have any pockets (Any pita bread must have a pocket, according to me).
Overall, it's not a place I would go back to again, or recommend to others, especially considering it's quite heavy on the wallet. I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt that they might be facing operational difficulties due to the lockdown and the sourcing ingredients for the exotic food might be difficult. But, it did feel like the management has resigned itself to its fate, and is not really keen on...
