#Shards of glass in beer: A cautionary tale_
Recently visited the place with a friend basing on glowing reviews and recommendations found on social media. Ordered one of their craft beers with snacks and was well into my third 330 ml glass when I felt a sharp, tingly object inside my mouth after the ceremonial final gulp. Upon closer inspection, I noticed micro pieces of glass at the bottom of my beer mug. Considering that I was already tipsy and the lights had dimmed to fit the relaxing evening mood, this unsavoury discovery completely shocked and jolted all my senses awake. Immediately, I brought it to the notice of the attender and requested to meet the floor manager. Thereupon, I was led to one Mr. Prabhat who introduced himself as the manager. I showed him one of the larger shards of glass and implored upon him to look into the issue and take corrective steps. He initially responded positively and asked to return to my table until he resolved the matter. I waited with impatience with haunting thoughts of what-if scenarios, all the while Googling for home remedies on accidental swallowing of glass fragments. Without any response and seeing that it was business as usual over at the counters, I once again reached out to the manager regarding the possible source of the broken glass pieces. To my utter surprise, he casually responded that such things do happen and offered me an extra beer for the trouble. It was at this juncture that the realization dawned on me that I had naively handed over the only piece of evidence (broken glass pieces with mug) to the management which they had conveniently disposed and replaced forthwith. All my arguments regarding the utter lack of responsibility by callous bartenders and a customer's reasonable expectations of a safe drink from a reputed establishment were now falling on deaf ears. By this time, the place was teeming with customers unaware of the unpleasant discovery and the ambience was getting noiser for any argumentative talk on the issue. The management kept offering me extra drinks as if to downplay and drown the issue at hand. Finding no resolution, my friend and I decided to leave the place without further ado. Traumatised by the experience and psychologically scarred with thoughts of shards and micro glass pieces entering the systems of unsuspecting customers that day, I conveyed that there shall be a reckoning to which the management seemed least bothered. What peeved me the most about the incident was the insensitivity and apathetic attitude of the management to look into the matter. There is no lack of good restro-bars, pubs and diners at DLF Avenue and adjoining Select Citywalk which offer and serve fairly decent, if not better services. However, a restro-bar without any food safety protocols coupled with a management mindset unresponsive to customer grievance is definitely not worth a second visit. Sharing my personal experience as a cautionary tale for the benefit of visitors and patrons...
Read moreThird visit in March 2024 Glad to see the place almost completely occupied on a Saturday evening. Outdoor and indoor, both seatings were packed. However the service took a hit because of the large crowd. We had trouble getting the staff’s attention to place an order. Wait time for food was longer than expected. Repeated a fresh lime soda, but it never arrived. The staff were happy to take it off the bill instead of getting the 2 minute drink. Small portion size, not that great in taste, over expensive, lack of variety made the food options less favourable than the beer options.
First visit in September 2023 Delhi’s 6th and latest microbrewery has started serving craft beers. On 2nd floor of DLF Avenue mall, has indoor and outdoor seating area. Big on space, only a handful of tables were occupied.
8 flavours are listed, but only 6 were available the day I visited. 2 flavours (honey mead, Vienna lager) were still in the making. Beers tasted pretty good, definitely enjoyed the stout and Belgian wit. Food was great as well, Thai chilli garlic fish, grilled jerk chicken, pesto chicken pizza. Prices are on the higher side, 330 ml for around ₹300, 500 ml for around ₹500. Food is a bit expensive too given the quantity served. Cost me ₹3900 for 2.
Overall a lovely experience, can give good competition to Effingut microbrewery in the adjacent MGF mall.
Flavours available are German pale lager Belgian wit German dark wit Vienna lager US IPA Irish stout Honey...
Read moreWe booked flow for our New Year Celebrations and it was not a good decision at all.
Cons: Since every other club was offering a Bollywood night, flow was one club which confirmed there will be more of English Songs and less of Bollywood but to our shock it was very few songs which were English and all rest were Bollywood and Punjabi. Dhol was also being called and he was playing the dhol for every song even the few English ones which was totally killing the mood. On food, since we were vegetarians, there was only Paneer tikka as a starter which was ok ok in taste, french fries was pathetic and Pizza was reasonably ok. Main course again was almost finished when we started to eat. And again very few options like Dal and paneer and Pasta which was not at all ok in taste. Drinks were reasonably ok. Dj would have been good if that Dhol would have avoided.
Pros: Staff was good, place is spacious. Good location
Improvement points: Please improve the quality and quantity of food. Not all songs deserve Punjabi Dhol
7000 for a couple was definitely not worth the money.
May be a good place some other ordinary night but New Year Celebrations, they were not able...
