Heard a lot about this place because it's the first place they go to when they come to mahabalipuram. The catch is the fresh see food and the variety which they cook for the on spot. The beach is really close and they catch fresh fish for the same. However there are quite a lot of flaws in the system which go unnoticed. We ordered the following:

Kalamari golden fried Prawns golden fried Masala fish ( whichever fish us available) Lemon sauce fish Chicken manchurian Chicken fried rice Masala crab Prawn masala Kalamari masala Breezers Low alcoholic drinks ( for a part of the group) Cool drinks White rice Gopi manchurian Paneer rice

Pros of the place:

Sea food available is fresh.

The lemon sauce itself was a blessing and it went along with many of the dry items

Good place to go with friends and as a large group. Mostly no other teams will be here and you have the place to yourself

If well cooked the fish tastes pretty good.

Now the flaws are as follows:

Out of 2 lemon sauce fish, one was undercooked and smelled and tasted of raw fish. This can be consumed only if you are drunk. The difference could be made out when one tasted the other lemon sauce fish which was cooked.

Masala fish - one of them had the masala coated on the outside only and it hadn't come evenly.

The kalamari and the prawn golden fried ones tasted the same. Since we lost count of how many we ordered the waiter kept on getting more and more to the table to the point of us telling them to please stop.😂

The masala stuffs all tasted the same and it was obvious only the raw material was being changed.

The place is a Rip off. In the midst of being famous each of the items have a huge tax on it which I felt was too much.

One of our members required a special drink which wasn't available there. So they got it from outside. MRP of the product was 1000. And the bill put for us was 2000. So 100 percent tax for a product which wasn't even theirs. Our bill for 35 adults and 5 children came upto ₹55,000😂. So rest can be imagined.

The ambience of the restaurant was just ordinary. There was nothing that demands so much tax.

I had 2 episodes of diarrhea after the food🤣... which may not exactly be a con. My gut's really sensitive.

There is a similar named restaurant in the vicinity called moonrakers which need to be tried sometime. We had wrongly gone into this place but had to come out as our group was in this place. I don't know if the name of this place went famous because of the great food they had before. If so the standards has dropped and I would suggest the owners to look into this. I would not suggest this place to anyone who wants to just...

Compete disappointment, To be honest this restaurant was recommended to me by my colleagues and friends as i have already paid a visit here during last year aug month i had a good time so last week when i took my friend there and expressed my excitement how great the ambience is here and how famous is this restaurant ... The moment we entered the parking lot the marketing guy stopped us and rudely asked "where are you going ? " Like obviously for food and good time and he said okay then he politely with a smiling face calls foreigners who were passing by to pay a visit there .....we laughed it off and while waiting for our food we had an urge for beer i couldn't find any server so i went down and asked for beer an old server with glasses he was super slim and a height approximately of 5"7 had patchy beard rudely says , " this is not your market okay why did you came down can't you wait? " . Exactly this is how he treated a customer who was excited to have good time there with his friend . I replied " okay if this is how you are going to treat then we are leaving" he was like okay please leave . He can be a father of someone who is working to provide to his family we got angry but with that perspective we didn't created any scene we left quietly and he didn't even bothered to look at us. The management must look after these things I'm giving food and atmosphere 4 rating but service only...

A Seafood Lover’s Paradise

If you're all about fresh, flavorful seafood and top-notch service, this place is a must-visit. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with genuine smiles and attentive staff who clearly care about the customer experience. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu and offered great recommendations.

The food? Absolutely incredible. Every dish we tried—from the buttery lobster tails to the perfectly seasoned shrimp—was a hit. The flavors were bold and fresh, and the portions generous.

The ambiance, however, is where this spot falls a bit short. It's clean and comfortable, but the decor is fairly basic and lacks the charm or atmosphere you might expect at a higher-end seafood spot and is open to atmosphere. It doesn't take away from the meal, but it's not a place you'd pick for a romantic evening or special occasion based on looks alone.

Still, the food and service more than make up for it. If you're there to eat well you'll leave...

This place is Not even worth for rating. Such a bad atmosphere with worst food. Service here is a joke, server suggests you the dishes which is available at that time with such an attitude as if he is providing free food. He seems to have worked previously in TASMAC, still continuing his work ethics, he makes note of orders in the backside of cigarette box. This action tell this restaurant's standard. Food is fully loaded with low grade masala which shows its action the very same day within few hours. No one is there to even clean the tables of the left over of previous customers. We Just have to sit on the unclean table with bones, rice sprinkled over the floor. This place is suitable for drunkards who is need of side dish. It is mostly filled with those drunkards. Not at all recommended if you are looking for a peaceful and neat dine in. Unforgettable worst experience.
