Taacos Seafood Restaurant — Restaurant in Tamil Nadu

A must visit sea food specialty restaurant for the food and more specially for the service.

As hard-core Chennai-ites wishing to give a taste of some amazing sea food to our visiting family from the northeast, we were drawn to Tacos which came with strong recommendations from some of our sea food connoisseurs and a raving review by our dear Kailash Prasad. Having been a regular at various sea food joints on the same road, I was hesitant to make my switch to this new restaurant; But boy am I delighted that we did. We visited Tacos– a new kid on the block with its refreshing simple ambiance, exceptionally warm and welcoming staff and light, flavorful and delicious sea food. It’s a small restaurant with just a hand full of tables manned by Anto handling the service and Sathish handling the kitchen. Our order was for calamari fry, 2 large tawa Fish (catch of the day), a few portions of sea-food and chicken fried rice and tawa prawns. The freshness of the sea food was evident in each bite – the spices well balanced (some of our folks did find the prawns a tad bit spicy for their liking though). The fried rice was spot on, was a medley of flavors – nothing overpowering but well balanced. The calamari was a show stealer – perfectly done – perfect flavors, neither too chewy nor too dry, served with mayo and salads. The tawa fish was also exceptional. The two large fishes turned out to be too much for us to handle (given the rest of the order) so we packed one to-go to enjoy at home.

From the time we stepped foot in the small cozy restaurant, we didn’t fell like we were in an alien place – somehow it felt like home – maybe it was the simple décor, the semi-open seating or perhaps more importantly the staff were warm, welcoming and the passion to make it big showed in the way they went about attending to their customers. With just 3 months into this business, this one looks like its there to stay, and more importantly its on its way to make it big with seafood lovers.

Do make sure you reach there with ample time at hand – the restaurant is a small affair manned by just a few friends with a shared passion and a spark in their heart; service does take time, but each dish is sure worth the wait. A Taste of the Ocean at Sea Good Restaurant!

I recently dined at Sea Good Restaurant, and I'm hooked! This hidden gem serves the freshest seafood in town, and I couldn't be more impressed.

Ambiance: 5/5 Cozy, nautical-themed interior with friendly staff. The vibrant atmosphere makes you feel like you're dining by the sea.

Food: 5/5 Grilled fish was cooked to perfection! The salmon was tender, juicy, and bursting with flavor. Sides were equally impressive – crispy calamari and flavorful rice.

Service: 5/5 Attentive, knowledgeable staff happy to answer questions and make recommendations.

Been to this outlet during our Mahabalipuram visit last week. I had run through lot of sea food outlet reviews and zeroed down to Taacos for his Google reviews.

Now, coming to visit experience, the outlet is on the first floor of a house in the street and size wise a small one. But the staffs were too warm welcoming. They had wide varieties of items including the live ones freshly caught from sea which was just 30 mts from the eatery. The crab, lobster, tiger prawns sizes were ranging from big to small. You choose whatever you want and they will prepare the delicacies for you. You can also take photos holding the live ones 📸

Now, coming to food, YUMM 🤤 We chose lobster, tiger prawns, rock fish and a pomfret and to our amaze the food they prepared was mouth watering and we literally kept licking our fingers with every bite.
