UPDATE as on 7 Aug 23: The manager, Mr. Muthu called and expressed their regret about the whole experience. Thanks to him for taking the critical review. He assured that they will work on them. Thank you.

Original review:

Had high expectations of this place, but ended up with disappointment. We were group of 11 ppl, booked in advance. Starting off with some positives -

Nice interiors, roomy and not very crowded. They arranged for a cake as per our last minute request. Much appreciated.

What are the problems:

About Food:

  1. Minimal Buffet spread. Lesser than promised. Taste was decent with some being good.
  2. Soup and Starters are only served at the table. This means we had to order for it everytime. For 11 ppl, I expect atleast 5-6 plates of starters to start with, but had only 2. We had to keep ordered for the starters to arrive.
  3. Bad Veg starters. They served 3 starters - Baby corn fry was OK, but Chilly Bajji and a salad toast is not acceptable as starters. Tasted bad.
  4. Non veg starters. Served Squid as sea food starter (1 out of 3 starters) and the waiter wasn't aware of what it was. This is OK for us, but may not be for everyone.
  5. Desserts were good, but they didn't bother refilling the cakes that were empty.
  6. Ice creams were in melted state, none of us could have it.

Hospitality:

Certainly not a 4-star hotel level of customer treatment. The table arenagements were not up to our satisfaction and they were so reluctant to add a table and asked to adjust and sit.

It was around 11PM and we were taking photos at the reception after our Dinner. Probably for some 10 mins. They switched off all the lights while we were in mid of taking pics. When asked they said it's time for them to switch off.

Booked this place for a family get together for a star hotel treatment. But came out highly disappointed. I wouldn't...

What a horrible experience. Visited this place for a friends birthday based on the reviews and recommendations by other friends. The food was nothing close to what are shown on the images. Please do not be fooled and even if you do make it there ask for the menu check it and if you could try to look at others eating. It was horrible pathetic they said 5 veg and 5 non veg starters and I am not sure where those were.

There's not good options to choose from. They gave 4 similar type chicken starters none of them were explained or labled before being served to us. The staff were kind but didn't know the dishes they were serving everytime we asked something they'd say I'll check and come back.

We tried the buffet for dinner and got seated around 9.30pm and the only dish that was served hot was the soup, everything else was just warm and the fish was just too dry and had a bad oder to it.

The veg options are not for the Indian palate being dishes from India and not having the flavours to speak for itself was just sad.

The baby corn was batter fried and tossed with a sweet chilli sauce and was soggy by the time it reached out plate. The cauliflower was one of the dishes that was hot and reminded me of the taste from visiting the food vendors at the beach. Nothing stands out at this restaurant to be honest not sure why were being charged a hefty price for such dishes.

It ruined our entire night. Having to find a place at 10 PM and then driving to another spot.

The chef was kind enough to come in and listen to us and offered to make us something else for starters, we did not want to trouble someone and make us something for as long as we kept eating there. We requested them to not charge us as we only had a portion of the starters and left the restaurant.

From the looks of it, i assume I'll get the same generic reply from from...

Not as good as the reviews say!!!

Visited on Christmas this year. Little crowded but chirstmas decorations were lit and neatly organised

Food - More varieties, More signature dishes, More desserts.

My personal favourite Veg and non veg starters. Idiyappam and mutton paya Chicken buna curry Grilled turkey with salad Most of their salads tasted really good. Couldn't remember all the names though but some didn't meet our Indian taste

Their desserts did deserve a special mention. Lots and lots of cakes , macroons , breads.

Icecreams were also available with cones

Live counter had aapam and coconut milk.

Mutton and vankozhi biriyani was not that good.

Ambience - Awesome and stylish. That's how I would describe it. Given the interiors and lighting, I would say one of the best

Service - Okayish. Since it was little crowded it took time for the staffs to bring us our order. But they did a decent job. Everyone was polite.

We were charged 2000 rs for adult and 800rs for kids as it was christmas. But I felt it was overpriced and expensive. Probably a range of 1300 -1500 would have been better.

One thing which I felt harsh was even though the service charge was optional the person whom we contacted , Jagadish was insisting us to pay the service charge when we asked to remove it from the bill. Finally we had to pay around 600 extra for that.

Probably visit this place if the price comes below 1500 otherwise a...

How can i not do the dakshin route, specially when i have been in search for some good non vegetarian food in Tamilnadu! The story starts with the Dakshin Routes the food festival at Spice Jar! Must say i am not a buffet person at all! But this one is totally curated keeping in mind their regular guest as well as the festival. Me like always, opted for only the festival specials. Must say the best that i had in recent days! Chef Vellaisamy Ganesh and team have done a fantastic job. The spices and flavours are something very unique and full of flavour! Special mention to the massi gose bonda (dry Tuna ) balls, it was unique. The valliyur zamin erachi curry ( mutton curry) had some subtle yet amazing flavour. The fish curry and biryani totally bowled us! The savouries and sweets were authentic and totally yummy! Please note the dessert counter has other items too! Since the appam festival is on too. We got to try this awesome appam combo. Mallipoo appam (Jasmine flavoured appam) was soft and ful of flavour this was served with kheema and sweet coconut milk! One of the best and least expensive! The festival is on till 17th November for lunch and dinner!
