Monday -4/4/2022 .Time: 13:00. I reached the location. The street is small and residential complex in and around so no parking found. Finally i parked it under the bridge in main road . At the entrance i was asked to wait for sometime . Eventhough single person there was waiting time . After some time they called in. The ambience of restaurant was pleasant. In the background Bollywood songs were being played. A little bit loud. Being a weekday restaurant was fairly empty. One or two tables occupied by family and with passing time office goers started coming. While families and tables having two or more persons were being attended to quickly. I was left waiting for sometime ,then i hastily called a waiter and placed my order. Thali was delivered quickly. It consisted of three hot piping gravy , one was panner, and the remaining were corn and sprout variety respectively. Three triangles of butter nan ( may be roti, kulcha ) were placed. Number of triangles am not sure 3-4. But they were aptly cooked and all dishes were hot and tasty. Eventhough its thali ,the format followed is a la carte as my anxiety was building up thinking where is rest of menu😂. As i was completing the waiter came to my table and offered me two choices of four dishes viz pulav or steamed rice then Raita or buttermilk. I opted for pulav and butter milk. Both were served immediately. Pulav was tasty and quantity was on lesser side as small cup was served. After i completed sweet - A single piece of gulab jamun was offered. It was nice and delicious. I refered menu card whether i have ticked all items in thali. 😂 Wash bowl are provided but i prefered hand wash. Overall i would say its a small restaurant with Good food and casual waiters. I guess its more of casual dining than fast food kind. Hence expecting fastfood kind service was my mistake. Waiters are not slow ir inattentive rather its their style of serving . A good place to hangout with friends on a weekend if we go before rush hour. Thali- 7/10 Quantity-6/10 Price- 6/10( little bit costly as soup and starters not part of menu while other restaurant offer them in same price ranges) Cost-260 /- and with gst-273/- After a thali usually we feel very heavy and especially having them on a weekday will make it difficult to concentrate in work afterwards as we tend to get sleepy😂.However this thali was light on stomach ,may be a bit heavy on wallet 🤪. Next time eager to try their A La...
Read moreIt's my first visit and here are my first impression:
As soona s you enter the restaurant, u r welcomed with a stingy and dingy waiting loung. It was smelling too nasty and you will vomit even before you start having ur food.
The sofa in the waiting lounge was in a horrible state where all the foam and sponge was excavated and was pretty useless.
Rest room was located in the first floor which was pitch dark with no proper ventilation and lighting. My wife was annoyed and she came back holding her urge to use the rest room.
I really don't understand who had framed the guidelines that the dining hall should not be well illuminated. This was very common that I found in almost all the fine dining places.
Coming to the food part
Staffs were very courteous and they answered our queries with open heart.
Food was good except soups, lassi and raitha. Raitha was too sweetish and almost a buttermilk. Lassi is nothing but buttermilk. Don't ever go for salt lassi, they will add tonnes of salt in it. And forget about sweet lassi. It's sweet buttermilk.
Food was served hot and quick.
Starters and main course were pretty good and the people who served the dish were very polite.
U need to request heavily to the table cleaner boys to clear the utensils on the table. Otherwise, they keep standing in one corner staring at you with wide open eyes. They will not move their body unless u please them.
Overall, as far as food is concerned u can certainly relish them at home by ordering through swiggy / Zomato. But dining at this restaurant.....will leave it to you people.
I would certainly advise to visit this place during weekdays and in particular at 7 pm. Else you will feel it's crowded with no place to stand as the restaurant is very small. Am not sure whether first floor is...
Read moreWas never an ardent fan of NI food in Chennai since they lacked that exceptional kick which those food usually tend to have. But, this place was a huge turnaround and should say that it is underrated.
To start with was the Cream of tomato, Sweet corn mushroom soup and Masala papad. While the soup was thick and rich in flavours, the papad was as good as we could get at any native shop!!
Chilly paneer - Saucy, spiced paneer tossed in green onions; sweet and sour on the whole with subtle soft crunch
Baby corn pakoda - Deep fried corn fritters with evenly coated batter; goes best with their mint chutney. Ain't spicy yet perfect blend for any starter
Butter roti with Bhindi do pyaza - Soft roti with creamy bhindi masala; good spice full of flavours; great texture on the veggies which went well with pulao too
Kashmiri pulao - All time favorite with sweet and dry fruits all along; melon and raisins were the star; so buttery yet never felt heavy, ONE OF A KIND
Kulfi falooda and Abu roll - Sweet kulfi chopped down with the falooda; basil seeds and the sweet vermicelli gelled well to present themselves as the sumptuous dessert , HELL YEA
Basundi Rabdi - Thick condensed milk mixed well with the sweet basundi; every scoop was heavy with so much cream and dives down the throat smoothly, WOW!!
Situated inside the narrow streets of the city, this place has a tight parking spot and limiting seating space. There was some waiting time for the table but not for the food though. The ambience was quaint and simple with courteous service on the whole. When it comes to pricing, they are definitely better than many spots since they did balance out both the authentic taste...
