Thanjai veeraswamy — Restaurant in Tamil Nadu

We have visited Thanjai Veeraswamy before,so we visited again, there was space for parking at the front for 4 car's at a time and they gave valet parking too. The ground floor dining area was so hot and just 4 tablets were there,people prefer to be seated in the AC dining area mostly, the first floor dining area was so narrow and still it was hot, AC wasn't working i guess. The person who took the order he insisted to get pot biriyani that will be perfect for 3, we ordered a chicken kizhi parota and a nethli 65. Nethli 65 was like a fish bajji didn't like it, but the kizhi parota was good and the pot biriyani was too much wet it wasn't tastey not appetizing looking too. We started eating then a family of 8+ were sitting next to our table they ordered mutton pot biryani that had a worm 🐛 in there biriyani, they all freaked out,after knowing that we stopped eating that biriyani. Then in the next table a group called the server asking AC isn't working the server replied it's on can't you see that was so rude and they left immediately,it was hot in the AC hall too,but we were charged for the AC and the 🐛 worm found biriyani too horrible dining experience and disgusting food experience. When we left we saw most of the customers have ordered biriyani and not touched it, hotel would have charged for those biriyani too same as us,i should have asked to remove the 🐛 biriyani from the bill,but didn't want to make a sean, i want the hotel management to look into it and correct it immediately before food safety...

I went there based on lot of positive reviews and food bloggers recommendations. But seems those are either fake or paid ones.

It was the worst food experience.

We ordered below

1. Nool parotta with Nattu kozhi kulambhu - Nool parotta was better but the kulambhu was tasteless. It was watery and blunt and the quantity is also not enough for 2 parottas

2. Nool parotta with Veg kurma - Kurma was again tasteless with hardly any veggies in it

3. Nethu vecha meen kulambhu meals - This is their so called signature dish but none of the items in the plate was good. Fish fry was not fried properly. Raw smell was coming out of it. Fish gravy tasted like a bowl of Tamarind water. Sweet had a weird oil smell

4. Chicken Biriyani - Even tomato rice would taste better than their biriyani Extreme chicken- They charged 260 rs for a tiny plate of chicken pieces which was by the way not good

5. Chicken Lollipop - it was really hard and overcooked

All the dishes are overprized for the quantity of dishes provided. Atleast if the taste is good that would have been little justified. But for this tasteless food paying this money is worthless. I wasted by 1400 bucks on their tasteless food. Ambience is fine but we don't go to restaurant just for ambience.

So a BIG NO for this place I wish I had '0' stars in the rating for this place not even...

✓ Biriyani tastes better than other dishes.

× Overhyped place in social media. Too costly. Nool parotta contains 2 small parotta along with 2 small piece chicken and nattu kozhi gravy. It tastes ok, a bit similar to virudhunagar parotta. But the price is on the heavier side for this dish.

x Waiters forgot our orders, hence we end up waiting a long time with empty plates.

× Ambiance is average.

× Hygiene lacking, particularly on Sundays it's worse. They just clean over the table, but leftover foods were still present under the table!

× Restroom was worse. When asked about it to a floor manager, he told "As the crowd is too much we won't able to clean it often"!!!!! The worst reply i have ever heard from a restaurant management in my life!! No proper car parking, though they have valets who park it on the roads(valet service was better than the restaurant).

× Lot of previous comments mention the service is very poor, yet it continues to be. Looks like the management doesn't care about customer feedback!!!!

× End of the day we had an upset stomach (the only meal we had on the day was here)

Overall i will never recommend this place...
