This placed Housed Chianti another Italian Restaurant which used to serve finger licking food but got closed during Covid. Toscano is opened at the same place. Though i have had Italian food at many places but I am gonna put this review keeping Chianti as the Benchmark.
1st disappointment - we were seated at a small table for 2 next to the bar counter while the gorgeous table with candle light were out there catering to those who came in numbers. The seatings like changes drastically from the beautiful arranged table with a red aura to a boring side cornered table as if couples or pple who come in 2's dsnt deserve a glam table. I think if u are lead to be seated to that section u should walk out . While u pay the same that section is a literal mockery of fine dining.
Coming to food - Menu is extensive with choices of pizza , pasta, risotto, breads and mains along with mocktails and dealcoholised wine .
2nd disappointment - complimentary bread with 2 dippings. This was an perfect example of complimentary things are not suppose to taste good as the guest may ask for more 😂. Chiantis Breads were baked to perfection a little toasted and served with roasted garlic and olive oil . With that memory in mind Toscanos complimentary were a big let down. Dippings added further to our dismay.
3rd disappointment - Cocktail. We ordered for a Litchi Mojito and a Dealcoholised orange Sangria. The mojito though had the heavy flavour of Lytchee real juice but kick of lemon and mint along with the correct fizz from the soda was missing. Felt as if just all the ingredients were thrown into a glass stirred and served. Totally a pass . I saw them taking beautiful cocktail to other table , may be i ordered the wrong cocktail or was it that they cudnt get the very basic mocktail correct? The Sangria was beyond my tastebud's tolerance i will opt out to comment on that .
4th disappointment - Calamari e Gamberi - It was a combination of Squid, Prawns, onion rings and french fries . Concept and the presentation being top notch its a deception served hot on a plate . It was under seasoned and with just 4 piece of calamari and 4 piece of prawn with loads of french fries and few onion rings dosent do justice to name of the dish and its price. No complaints about the taste though calamari and prawns were crisp on the outside and soft inside ,nly if the seasoning was correct it could have veen the saviour dish of the night. However if a dish is named Calamari i would expect the main ingredient to be the Calamaris and not the French fries.
5th disappointment - Bruschetta Chix - Again they really have their bread wrong . Though this time the breads were toasted but thn it felt dehydrated. The toppings of shredded chicken mixed with some kinda sauce against missed that Italian kick . It was just ok , really average and can be avoided.
We kept our Mains and dessert order to be placed after we completed our above orders. But by this time I was really having a bad intuition that mains wud disappoint me further . I was really looking forward to try the Pork ribs which read really appetizing but after discussing the dish with our server, I decided to skip my mains and dessert. My partner ordered for Spaghetti Pescatore which was a mixed seafood pasta in tomato sauce. The pasta taste was decent with chewy prawns.
No i didnt expect the food to match Indian Taste buds.
Overall Our dining experience was not at all good. I really had very high expectation and it came crashing down . I would make a mention that I have tried their Pizza delivered through Swiggy it was really good.
Ambience of the restaurant was good minus the section where we were seated.
Service was not up to the mark. With a small table empty plates kept stocking and got cleared after a long time.
Would I visit again ? I would definately visit their nungambakkam branch to give it...

I've been a loyal customer of Toscano for quite some time now, but it's with a heavy heart that I write this review. My initial experience with their pizza and sandwiches was nothing short of exceptional, leaving me with high expectations for subsequent orders. However, as time went by, it's become evident that the quality of both the food and the service have taken a nosedive.
My very first order was a delightful surprise - piping hot pizzas and sandwiches that were bursting with flavor. It was a culinary adventure that left me eagerly anticipating the next order. But to my dismay, that enthusiasm has slowly withered away with each subsequent delivery.
My most recent order was nothing short of a disappointment. To begin with, the food arrived ice-cold, making it abundantly clear that it had been sitting around for far too long. The once-crispy french fries had succumbed to the chill, turning into limp, sad, and inedible sticks. I was shocked to discover that the sauces were entirely missing, robbing the meal of any hope of redemption.
What troubles me even more is that the prices at Toscano do not reflect the quality or the quantity of the food anymore. It's disheartening to spend a considerable amount of money only to be met with a meal that leaves you questioning your decision to order in the first place.
The decline in quality and consistency is not only frustrating but also a letdown for someone who was once an ardent supporter of Toscano. It's not merely about a single bad experience but rather a pattern of disappointment that has been emerging over several orders.
I implore Toscano to revisit their standards and reevaluate their commitment to delivering quality food to their loyal customers. In the era of numerous dining options and fierce competition, it's imperative to maintain the level of excellence that initially drew patrons in. I sincerely hope that this review serves as a wake-up call for Toscano to bring back the warmth, flavor, and service that made me fall in love with their food in the first place. Until then, I'll be exploring other options that can fulfill my cravings without the disappointment and regret that has sadly become synonymous with ordering...

Food: The food is amazing! I’d say it’s the best Italian cuisine in Chennai serving seafood, and continental options. They served us complimentary bread and dippings which was a very sweet gesture!
I personally loved their Calamari and bruschetta! We also tried their pizzas and pastas and they’re out of the world. The best sourdough pizzas you’ll have in Chennai. Also if you love lamb chops, you should definitely try their NZ lamb chops!
Coming to their drinks menu, I absolutely loved their coffees and the best part is they use freshly ground beans every single time. You’d feel the caffeine kick right from the first sip and trust me when I say, it’s truly addictive! Totally beats the summer heat! It can be a little pricey but I’d say it’s worth the price!
Service: The staff is friendly and courteous, providing attentive service to ensure a pleasant dining experience. Special mention to MR JEGAN for looking after us personally and assisting us order the best dishes for everyone in the family be it the little kids and our parents who’ve never tried Italian cuisine before. He was very warm and welcoming and made us feel very comfortable. We absolutely loved the experience and will definitely come again for my daughter’s birthday in July.
Value for Money: The average cost for two people is around ₹1000-₹2000, which can be a little pricey but is very reasonable considering the quality and quantity of their food and ambiance.
Overall, Toscano at the Phoenix Market City is a great option for those who appreciate quality food, ambiance,...
