The only thing noteworthy about this place the is the view from their window table. It's just mindblowing the panoramic view from the 3rd floor is quite a spectacle.
Coming to the food it's honestly a huge let down. It is highly overpriced and the taste is substandard and quantity served is not enough for even one person. I ordered Naatukozhi Biryani under their recommendation and paid Rs.425 + Service Charge + GST and got served with a small handi of biryani. The rice was flavorful no denial but it was evident that the chicken was not cooked with the rice. It was cooked / boiled separately and then tossed with the rice. And as a result the rice was fresh but the chicken was stinking since it wasn't fresh. How did I realize this? Well we ordered Paneer Biryani too and the rice was exactly the same taste only difference was paneer was tossed with the rice. Given that I'm from a restaurant background I know how most of the restaurants function in order to quickly serve food but please don't serve stale stinking chicken in the process you are charging a price of a fine dine restaurant and serving this...
Read moreDear Restaurant Manager, My bill number is KKMY10002(25.07.25)21.35~ I recently visited your hotel with my family, and I would like to share some feedback regarding our experience. While we were generally looking forward to a pleasant time, I must express my disappointment with the service provided. After placing our order, we noticed that two individuals who arrived after us received noticeably preferential treatment. The waiter approached them promptly, offered them a warm welcome, and even served them with what seemed like special attention — almost like royal treatment. In contrast, our table was not only served later, but we were also not offered any welcome drink or courteous greeting. This disparity in service made us feel uncomfortable and overlooked, especially as a family dining together. Such inconsistent treatment of guests is disheartening and not something we expected from a reputed establishment like yours. I sincerely hope you take this feedback seriously and ensure all customers are treated with equal respect and hospitality, regardless of who they are. Thank you for your time and...
Read moreKaraikudi Chettinad Restaurant delivers an authentic Chettinad feast at incredible value. We dropped in for lunch and ordered their Kiramatthu Kari Virundhu (Non Veg) thali—complete with chicken thokku, prawn thokku, biryani, steamed rice, dessert, and more. Each preparation packed genuine Chettinad spice and generous portions that make it perfect for solo diners or couples wanting to taste all the signature dishes.
Parking is ample and hassle-free, even during peak hours. The staff, dressed in traditional attire, were warm, attentive, and readily offered guidance—especially appreciated when we checked on spice levels.
While you’ll find a few negative reviews online, we strongly recommend you judge for yourself. If you’re sensitive to heat, simply ask your server to tone down the spice.
For a true taste of Chettinad cuisine in a well-managed, welcoming setting, Karaikudi Chettinad Restaurant should...
