Overall Experience: The overall experience was enjoyable, particularly because of the theme, which my son loved. The ghostly “Boo” scares from a staff member in a mask were a hit with the kids, making the evening fun and entertaining. Some younger children were a bit frightened and cried, but most seemed to enjoy the spooky atmosphere.
Ambiance: The haunted theme was well-executed and added to the experience. However, the restroom located outside the dining area had a strong, unpleasant smell, especially near the lift. While it didn’t affect the dining directly, it’s something that needs attention. Additionally, the dark ambiance, while fitting for the theme, made it difficult to distinguish between vegetarian and non-vegetarian food due to poorly visible signs.
Food Quality: Unfortunately, the food was below expectations, especially for vegetarians. The starters included roasted corn, honey-glazed paneer, and fries, along with a sweet corn soup that was far too spicy. The variety of vegetarian options was limited in the buffet, with only two gravies, rice, rasam, biryani, noodles, pasta, and curd rice. Many dishes were either too oily, salty, or overly spicy. There should be clearer segregation between vegetarian and non-vegetarian sections, as my son mistakenly picked up chicken gravy, thinking it was paneer butter masala.
Service: The service was good, but it was clear that the restaurant is understaffed. The person managing the cash register was also serving tables, which is too much for one person to handle. Despite this, the staff worked hard and were attentive. The management should consider hiring more staff to ensure smoother service and to ease the burden on the current team.
Desserts: Desserts were a disappointment. The unbranded vanilla and mango ice creams tasted more like sugary pastes, which didn’t meet expectations. However, the hot gulab jamuns were well-made. It’s worth noting that there were no eggless cake options, which could be an issue for some guests.
Hygiene: The dining area was reasonably clean, but the mixed seating of vegetarians and non-vegetarians made it uncomfortable for vegetarians due to the strong smells from non-veg dishes. A designated vegetarian section for both seating and food would make a big difference in terms of comfort and hygiene.
Parking: As of September 16, 2024, there was roadwork in front of the hotel, making parking difficult. This is something beyond the hotel’s control, but it’s worth knowing for guests planning to visit. Parking could be a challenge during this period.
Waiting Area: Though small, the waiting area was a nice touch, with a TV showing scary short films that were well done and in line with the haunted theme. This kept us entertained while waiting for our table, and I personally enjoyed it.
Price: We paid ₹2,796 for four vegetarian buffets, though we received a 30% discount through Zomato, which made the price more reasonable.
Suggestions for Management: I would suggest improving the quality and variety of the food, especially for vegetarians, and providing clearer separation between vegetarian and non-vegetarian sections. Hiring more staff would help improve the dining experience, and addressing the restroom cleanliness issue would make a big difference. Overall, the theme is fun, especially for children, but the food and service need improvement to make the restaurant...
Read moreIt was a friend's treat and so I had suggested this themed buffet place. The ambience just as the name suggests, haunted it was. From the time we enter, the sounds and effects giving those feels, to the objects placed in the restaurant, that are timed to give certain effects which actually make you feel like you're in a haunted place. Very courteous staff, good range of starters for both veg and non-veg. The main course was very simple and good, nothing more would be needed as we would fill up our tummies with the n number of rounds they keep serving starters. Desserts were also simple and decent. A good change from the usual Barbecue places that I have lately gotten tired of. The best part was a birthday surprise, where there was a man dressed up like a scary person who came to give the cake, which was a very nice dramatic surprise for a few minutes who went around scaring others. For people who are extremely scared of paranomal activities and ghosts, I don't think I would recommend this place, though we had a friend among us itself who was scared but she was fine. But if you want to get a feel of that and have fun, a...
Read moreReserved and went for Sunday lunch at 1.30pm. Honestly, the theme was not scary as well, I expected a lot.
We were served 5 veg starters (no Gobi/ Mushroom. We later came to know that it was supposed to be 6). Initial 3 were cold and after we complained the last 2 were hot. Serving quantity was very less and they never served back.
French fries and corn were good. Cheese balls had just potato and no cheese, tasted ok. Paneer was like rubber, literally.
We asked for some starters to be repeated. Waited for 20min each to get french fries and then cheese balls. Corn never came.
Frustrated in waiting, we went to main course. None in veg were refilled. Only white rice, rasam and curd rice (which was very thick) were available. Waited for like another 20min but ended up just having some desserts that were available.
Almost all tables that were occupied (half were empty) were complaining the same. What amused me the most was there wasn't any attempt to explain or console us, they just adjusted the bill even before we asked anything.
Easily the worst ever buffet I've had in my life. Thank you for a...
