Yuliati House is one of the weirder places I've stayed. First of all, you come in off the road and walk through other homestays and people's homes with rooms open to the alleyway before reaching Yuliati House, and then there are the staff. But first, the positives. The room we had was comfortable and spacious, with a large bed and a balcony that had a lovely view of greenery across the valley. The shower had hot water but the floor tiles were in need of replacement. The swimming pool was lovely, big enough to actually swim in and surrounded by trees and plants. The other guests were friendly. Those were the positives. ||Unfortunately Yuliati House is let down by the staffing. The staff do not offer any information - nothing about breakfast, tours, activities or about any services they offer at all (and I am an Indonesian speaker). You have to ask for everything (in contrast to other tourist spots where people are all too keen to tell you about tours, activities and travel options). We ended up not having the breakfast because I felt too awkward to keep asking questions. I had to ask to have our room cleaned each time, which is much needed because the ants are worse than I have experienced elsewhere in Indonesia. One of the staff had an odd manner and spoke to me very abruptly which I found jarring and unnecessary. When I asked if we could have a late check-out because our flight wasn't until midnight, I was told no. We were not given the option to leave our luggage after checking out either. I had read other reviews of Yuliati House about how friendly the staff were. I can only assume the staff has changed, because this was not our...
Read moreThe family are kind , smiling and greeting all the time , they even check me in before 2pm . However the room was really below average it's not what expected and as described on booking. Looks almost dry , no shampoo , gel douch despenser was empty , hot water was not working properly, I called them once to fix it , they they fix it , the day after same issue so was not ok . Curtains on the room was low quality and tiny so they don't cover much the light at night , so the room still looks bright when you switch odd the light , the size of room is small and looks so plain no designe or something interesting in it same as bathroom . So I didn't feel comfortable in it .however the location was good and nice garden and swimming pool around .as my experience in Ubud this place doesn't worth that price compared to other places where I have been . They never offer me fresh got water . Or...
Read moreI stayed in a standard room with a porch. Every morning, a talking bird by the name of 'Boss' would be up early, exercising its voice box. Cicadas were also actively making high pitch sounds as i believed they must be hoping to attract partners. It was a comfortable stay away from the hustle and bustle, with peaceful sleep every night, apart from the occasional meowing.||||The friendly people running the guesthouse were helpful and addressed my needs whenever i asked them. ||||Convenient place to get around other places.||||||Notes:||(1) you might wonder where yuliati house is as it is not obvious from the front of the house. Simply walk down the walkway/ driveway, bypass some houses and you'll reach Yuliati House, which is situated at the end (refer to images).||||(2) the bedside lamp is so much brighter than the room light. To light up your room at night, you can just turn on...
