Kopitoko Ubud — Restaurant in Bali

Unfortunately I didn’t really like this café that I mostly found super loud. It is just near the road and there is so much traffic and no sound proofing, which is quite awful if you need to focus or want to relax. Moreover they have some music, which is nice, but the speaker or bluetooth is not working properly which is unpleasant. I ordered a mochachino, which was 39k while in other places it’s usually under 35k. Thankfully it was really good! However I was really disappointed by the « soft cookie » which was everything but soft. Maybe it was made the day before? I have no idea but it was not it. It was also very sugary. They didn’t have soap in the toilet either… When you practice tourist prices, I feel like you should also give tourist quality… Even though I was not convinced by my experience at this café, the staff is nice, the place is cute, there’s wifi,...

What a delight this little place is. My wife and I walked the Campuhan Ridge early morning. Returning via the roads, we got a light drizzle, and fatigue was setting in. Spotted this little coffee shop and decided to take a breather. Not only was the coffee fantastic, easily amongst the best we had in Bali, but it was such a charming little place to get stuck in rain. The upstairs seating is open and airy, with a very cute painting of Central Ubud on the wall. We were there almost an hour waiting out the rain. Should have tried their breakfast, unfortunately my wife had her heart set on a specific breakfast elsewhere.

But definitely a must if you're a coffee enthusiast looking for a cup...

I stopped at kopitoko gelato by chance, not realizing I was craving gelato until I saw the sign.

I have become obsessed with all things coconut since coming to Bali and saw that they had a coconut passionfruit gelato... it was vegan (which normally puts me off) but I decided to risk it and give it a go. Probably the best coconut gelato I've ever had. Perfect texture, right amount of sweet and a hint of passionfruit that didn't overpower the gelato. 55k for 2 scoops.

I bought the gelato at the outside counter window so can't really speak to service. The location is on a main road so can be a bit noisy if you sit outside. The inside looks nice.

Worth a go if...
