Arcadia — Restaurant in Pulau Bali

Still one of the best restaurant experiences in Bali!

We've been to Bridges in the past. As we passed by the location, we saw it has now become Arcadia Restaurant & Bar. We were curious if it would be as good as Bridges. I made a lunch reservation for 4 pax for lunch on Thursday, 15 June 2023. My wife and I arrived a little early and our waitress "Tuti" gave us a very nice and polite welcome. She confirmed our reservation, then offered us a seat at the reception deck to have our complimentary welcome drinks (served in quality Spiegelau glassware!) as we waited for our 2 other guests. When they arrived, they served them their drinks and even gave us lightly-scented, thick, cold hand-towels to cool off! What a nice touch! We were then led to our table on the lower deck which had a great view of the Campuhan bridge, as well as the greenery around us.

All the food we ordered was very competently cooked and was very flavourful. You could see the care and attention that went into their preparation. All of us were very impressed with the food quality and presentation. The complimentary breadrolls and butter were freshly made and fragrant. The chicken was really tender and flavoursome, my Wagyu burger patty was juicy, the tomatoes were ripe, the french fries were cut from whole potatoes and arrived piping hot, and the brioche burger bun was pillowy soft and tasty! My wife's fish and chips done 3 ways was also very good! Service by Tuti was impeccable - she was extremely polite, informative, warm, hospitable, and efficient. When my wife's fish and chips was delayed, she apologised and provided excellent service recovery, which was much appreciated. Tuti and all the staff are very well trained and are genuinely hospitable. Tuti addressed me by name throughout the service once she confirmed my reservation, she checked on us right after we had the first few bites of our main courses, and she even crumbed the table before setting the table for dessert. With a promo code used for reservations made by the Chope app, this lunch represented the best value lunch we had in the whole of Bali in our week-long trip by a country mile! The high quality of the food, drinks, service, attention to detail, value, and overall comfort cannot be beat! They even served us complimentary petit fours with dessert! Coming from Singapore, and having traveled widely, I have not experienced such excellence in service anywhere other than some of the most expensive and highly rated restaurants. But Arcadia Restaurant delivered this excellence at a fraction of the price and with genuine sincerity. Thank you and very well done!...

My partner had her 30th birthday in Arcadia. As a romantic guy, I wanted it to be nice and prepared but what the staff did completely blew any expectations i had. But I will get to that. First, the food: we ordered their Social Media famous Mushroom Risotto and oh lord almighty it was the nicest mushroom dish I had ever tried, we also got their 12-day aged Duck. I tried a lot of Duck in my life, but this was an experience, starting from the thick gravy that is almost impossible to find in Bali, to the noodles and the whole meal was exquisite.

Then came in the happy hour drinks for my partner to celebrate. When we were ready, the restaurant called me over and handed me one of the freshest and nicest bouquets of flowers I've seen to this day (I really mean it, you could almost taste the flavour from the smell of the roses, it was something else). Then, since I'm a typical guy, I left the cake situation up to the very end and nobody in Ubud could get me a decent one. So a last-minute request was to get them to get us the cake.

In short, my partner cried tears of joy. Everything from the setting, to the smoked roses given to us at the beginning, to the outstanding rose petal rose drawn on the table, to the food and then to the grand finale with the flowers and cake. And I've spent less than I did for a bottle of "ok" whisky in Europe.

I CAN'T RECOMMEND THIS PLACE ENOUGH. I've eaten in Nobu, Dubai, Tokio sushi houses, Multi Michelin Restaurant - I've eaten in the best places in the world, but what they did beats them all without any shadow of a doubt. I recommend any romantic person to get their other half or their date there and communicate with them via WhatsApp.

Hands down, a memory for a lifetime. Arcadia needs to be put in the Michelin Restaurant Guide and deserves a multi-star rating. I will make sure I will do that recommendation on behalf of my company. (I even created a Trip Advisor account just to give them another review - that should speak for...
