Sami Warung — Restaurant in Bali

Horrible experience, we came for the evening to drink a few drinks, eat some good food. Firstly came drink, I don’t bother about that it was small, it’s Bali, alcohol is expensive, it was happy hour, but then the burger came, with smoked brochette, it was like carbon. Ok, I didn’t care that much about the food or the drink as I asked two people from the staff to reserve the table on the view of the street. Both of them told me and assured me that I will be able to seat there. Then apparently someone else from the staff invited “newcomers” without reservation for that seat. In the meantime another seat was taken as I asked for this specific one. After all I didn’t hear even “sorry”…. Like I wasn’t here anymore… no comment, no proposal to wait for another one… if you want to spend good time and have kind staff? You should...

We were referred to this place from The Monkeys You Tube channel.

It is upstairs, so you have a bit of a view of the street.

We all enjoyed our meals. The food and drinks were well priced.

The service wasn't quick but I think that's the nature of the place...

Staff was really friendly.

If you can get a seat by the balcony edge that would be ideal as you can watch the passing traffic.

They also have little Japanese style seating for a more intimate setting.

You could even leave the men there with a Bintang while the ladies shop downstairs in the street.

All in all,...

One of my favourite restaurants in Ubud. Loved the food, especially the Nasi Goreng and the Tom Yum soup (which was a pleasant surprise!). The prices were extremely reasonable and the large bottle of Bintang (prices at 30,000 IDR) was irresistible.

The young waitress that served us was extremely friendly, and the WiFi provided was strong. I don’t often go back to places when I am abroad, but this place was just that good an experience. Enjoyed the second floor dining ambiance and the music was more than decent.
