We had family lunch there. The place deserves the rate it gets on google. *Food: simply, good to very good, especially when value for money ratio is considered (without the tip) *Service: is excellent, friendly and quick, however 8% tip for that convenience is automatically added to your bill (menu says 18%, but they don’t charge that) *Drinks/cocktails: are well prepared as they should *Cleanliness: something to work on, especially in toilets, but still good for asian standard
Food was really good. Everyone enjoyed it. I had Thai tuna salad for a started and Pan roasted Baramundi fish for second. Both dosh were tasty, with original flavor, making it relly something to enjoy. My wife went for Tom Yam Gong soup, wich was spicy, but European turist spicy, so edible. Taste-wise, very rich and tasty. My son tried big mix meat platter, which he loved, especially the brisket. Finally my daughter took the pizza which surprised me the most as it was really good. Dough was very good, cheese good quality and well baked. Really good experience and we will probably come back to the place as we plan to visit Ubud one more time. Drinks are good. Our mojito felt a little too sweet so they changed it right away and it was perfect. Service is really nice. People seem to be naturally friendly and present when you need them. There are many waiters and all respond right away is you need anything. The only thing to be checked is the toilets. I am used to super clean good hotel toilets, so asian restaurant toilet is always little disappointing. The place is busy for their defense, therefore I can imagine this might be difficult to keep...
Read moreThey try to steal your data! When arriving the host really wanted to know and understand our names, how to pronounce them, and where we were from. Sounds nice, I thought.. We sat down and twice she encouraged us to use their free WiFi. Came back again to ask if we’d gotten on the network. Seems like nice customer service. But I don’t use open WiFi and became curious why she was pushing this so much. Then I saw a man in the back of the restaurant in the corner with a bunch of computer equipment set up. Seemed a little odd bc everyone in the place was foreign and in tourist mode. That’s the kind of place it is, right on the main street….not really a “locals” kind of place. But even though he did not appear to be a tourist, I thought maybe he was working remotely. He looked over at us a few times as we waited for our food. Then the hostess went and sat with him and looked at us together. I think they were working together! Fortunately I never accessed their WiFi at all. It didn’t all click in my head until we went back to this restaurant again two days later. Again, multiple reminders to use their WiFi. No other restaurants do that. So I’m pretty sure the guy in the corner was trying watch for us to connect to his fake network to steal our login info and whatever other sensitive info he could get. Be careful and don’t support this place. Totally shady. This is a huge form of crime in Bali, not only at this restaurant, so...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Tropical, and I must say that my experience was truly enhanced by the outstanding service provided by Novi, our waitress. From the moment we sat down until the end of our meal, Novi demonstrated a level of professionalism, attentiveness, and friendliness that exceeded my expectations.
Novi's warm smile and welcoming demeanor immediately made us feel comfortable and ensured that we were off to a great start.
Throughout the meal, Novi showcased her impeccable attention to detail. She consistently checked on our table, ensuring that our drinks were replenished, and promptly addressing any additional requests we had. Her timing was flawless, never interrupting our conversations but always appearing at the perfect moments to deliver our dishes or inquire about our satisfaction.
One aspect that truly stood out was Novi's ability to anticipate our needs. She preemptively provided extra napkins and utensils when she noticed we were sharing plates, ensuring that our dining experience remained smooth and uninterrupted. This level of thoughtfulness is rare and greatly...
