Bebek Tepi Sawah — Restaurant in Jakarta

It is one of the most famous Balinese duck you can ever find in Jakarta. They have several spots in Jakarta and I noticed in each and every branch they have a consistent calming ambience which I really appreciate.

The bebek is crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. It is so crispy that I can eat their bones like chips (not that I recommend you to do the same). For those who have never tried their ducks before, you might be surprised on how not gamey their ducks are. The herbs are just nice, and the sambal matah is fragrant. The combination of lemongrass and shallots always wins over me (I warn you that I am partial to sambal matahs in general. So, you have been warned). The green beans are just delightful and fragrant and it's a perfect compliment to the meal.

Now, I won't say that they are the best ducks in town. But, it is a very good representative of what Indonesian ducks should taste like. They are consistent and the place are always well decorated.

Stopped by for dinner with my family only to be ignored the service for nearly an hour the staff only give us the menu and disappear for awhile. later the staff lady comeback just to give us some cabe /chillys ?? like what ??? then disappear again there's ppl after us come and they got the service right away .we were wondering why they didn't come to offer to take the order we feel embarrassed by this nonsense so we left to get the food somewhere else . sangat memalukan!!...
