went here the other day for a drink with 2 other people. had an unpleasant experience. i really didn't want to write a bad review that's why i did not go through with this right away but this still bothers me until now so i guess i'm writing this!

i ordered their special mocktail and it's heavily sweetened almost like diabetes in a glass. but that's not the reason i'm doing this. we asked for the 50% off sourdough they usually have to one of the waiters and she said it's gonna start at the usual time around 8/9 pm, i dont remember exactly.

my boyfriend ordered the garlic bread before the sale anyway because he wanted to enjoy them with his beer. i went here a lot so i do remember what my usual order tastes like. and this time, the garlic bread's a bit off. texture and flavor wise. tasted like they skimped on the garlic spread, and texture was almost like regular bread not sourdough.

this is when things started to bother me. as we were about to pay, we mentioned something about the bread and one of their employees i remember her name, it's dita.. she cut us mid sentence and said something like 'diskon nya nanti ya kak jam blabla'. we continued what we were saying and she just kept insisting that it's about the discount i mean wth? we were gonna say something about the stale-ish garlic bread lol

she gave us an attitude. i mean if she hated the sale so bad why did she have to take it out on us customers? we didn't deserve that at all, miss dita. bou used to be one of my fav places to dine cos it's nearby and the waiters were nice (when i went with my parents), but...

I had the chance to try Bouclette Deli during their soft opening, and it was all about the bread for me. Their sourdough is outstanding— crusty, flavorful, and clearly made with care. Even when some sandwiches were served on paninis instead of the menu-listed breads, they were just as impressive. The bread alone made each sandwich a joy to eat. None of the sandwiches stood out individually, but they were all consistently good. Each bite showcased how the high-quality bread elevated even the simplest fillings.

The highlight of the meal, though, was the Soupe à l’Oignon Français (had to look up how to spell this in french lmao) served in a sourdough bowl. The soup was rich and comforting, and the bread bowl made it unforgettable. Soaking up the flavors of the caramelized onion and melted cheese, the sourdough was the perfect complement, transforming the dish into something truly special. It’s the kind of meal that stays with you long after you leave.

To finish, the Espresso Tiramisu delivered everything I want in a dessert—creamy, indulgent, and balanced with just the right amount of coffee. I also ordered a scoop of ice cream from Cold Moo just in front and combined these two into an amazing dish haha.

Even though the team was still learning and finding their footing, Bouclette Deli already feels like a place worth coming back to. It's nice to finally find clam chowder here. Although I believe that several restaurants in Indonesia also provide this menu, but this is my first time having clam chowder in Indonesia with big sourdough bowl just like in the US. So excited to try this one from Bouclette Bakery & Dining that is specialized in sourdough bread, Italian, and French dishes.

I had their Clam Chowder + Sourdough Bread Bowl (IDR 95,590) by using food deliveryservice. They were packed very well and neatly just like a premium food indeed! Both of the sourdough, clam chowder, and some toppings were packed separately.

The sourdough bread bowl is very big, even bigger than the one that I tried in San Francisco! But unfortunately, the space to serve the clam chowder is too small 😅 That's why, we need to pour it for several times.
