Coming here on Friday lunch time and luckily I got a seat indoor. They have indoor area which is kinda small and narrow. It’s not suitable if you want to come with more than 4 people. Their outdoor area is bigger but def not a good idea if you come around lunch time. When I came, they have 3 people working (1 cashier, 1 barista, 1 helper) and yes they got quite a lot of orders. But, they need to work on their working system. Somehow they got my order wrong and I need to go back and forth (around 3 times) from my seat to the counter waiting for my orders. When you order, they give you an alarm tool that will be ringing if your order is ready to be picked up, but unfortunately they got my order wrong and they ask for my receipts to prepare all my order. What did I order? I ordered 3 cakes: Lemon Raspberry Travel Cake, Nougat Cake, and Classic Chocolate Cake. Surprisingly their Nougat cake is good, so soft and not too sweet. Their Lemon Raspberry Travel Cakes is a gluten-free option and love the pistachio layer beneath the chocolate marble. Their Chocolate is Cake is also nice. What amaze me is their Candy Apple Coffee. They don’t use syrup and the taste is definitely balanced where you can taste the coffee but not bitter. Love it so much, definitely will comeback to try the other infused coffee. Overall, since it's located in the office area, it's a good option for the workers to have a good coffee. I do recommend to do takeaway...
Read moreThis isn’t my first time coming here—I’ve enjoyed their Tropical Black before, which is really refreshing on a sunny afternoon, and the Coco Black is also a nice choice. So naturally, I came back expecting another good experience.
But this visit honestly left me really disappointed. I ordered a hot flat white with soy milk, and all I could taste was soy milk—there was barely a hint of coffee. I politely asked the barista if they could remake it with less milk, maybe halfway up the cup, hoping to actually taste the coffee this time. But the second cup still came out almost full, and unfortunately, the taste was just as unbalanced.
I still appreciated that they tried to fix it, but it was frustrating to pay 60k (around £3.50) and walk away with something that tasted like plain soy milk with barely any coffee. For a place that presents itself as a quality café, I expected much better.
To be completely honest, the drink reminded me of something from a cheap convenience store—just served in a fancier setting. The atmosphere is nice, but that alone doesn’t make up for a poorly made coffee.
If you prefer very milky, sweet drinks, this might be your place. But if you're someone who really cares about the quality and balance of your coffee, this experience might leave you as let...
Read moreLocated amongst the towering skyscrapers and frenetic energy of Jakarta's business district lies First Crack, a coffee shop that's clearly a haven for busy professionals. It's clearly a "grab-and-go" kind of place, I'm not usually a fan of hot coffee served in paper. There's just something about the taste that feels slightly compromised. However, First Crack clearly understands its target audience and has streamlined its operations for maximum efficiency. They've built a brand on speed and convenience, and judging by the steady stream of customers, it's working. Despite my misgivings about the vessel, the coffee itself was noteworthy. The aroma that wafted from the cup was promising – a rich, inviting blend of chocolate and roasted nuts. The first sip confirmed the initial impression. This wasn't your average, bland business district brew. It was a well-crafted, balanced cup, with a prominent chocolate-nutty flavor profile that was both comforting and invigorating. As the coffee cooled slightly, a subtle hint of red fruit sweetness emerged, adding a pleasant complexity to the...
