iLLua Korean BBQ Restaurant 일루와 — Restaurant in Jakarta

I’ve been to over 50 Korean restaurants around the world, and this one is definitely up there with the best. Since I was traveling solo, I couldn’t order too much, but the kimchi jjigae, yukgaejang, and gimbap I had were all spot on. Even the side dishes were surprisingly better than the restaurants I’ve had visited in Korea.

I saw some negative reviews for this restaurant, but honestly, I don’t agree with most of them. If you’re Korean visiting Jakarta, or a local who wants to try authentic Korean food, this place is a must.

A very nice Korean restaurant at Wahid Hasyim. We tried their pork barbecue with chicken soup with ginseng & rice,teokpoki, & jeon (pancake). The meat is so tender & juice. I think it's almost the same like we had in korea also. The ginseng soup is not that thick, but very light and still tasty, although it less salty for me. The teokpoki & jeon are soo good, even the teokpoki is less spicy, friendly for the stomach. They serve various side dishes which we can refill for free for 2 times. The provide free watermelon for dessert. Although the price is quite pricey, but it's worth it. If you join the membership, you'll get some discount. The service is quite fast & all the staffs...

This is still the best Korean restaurant you can find & MUST-TRY place in the center of Jakarta (Thamrin, Menteng, Monas area). Authentic korean food with great portion and variety of side dish. Almost everything are delicious and different from other typical korean restaurant. Fresh and tasty! Comfortable place to relax. And the Coffee is the best!!!
