Very poor selection for a supposedly premium restaurant at a five-star hotel. Japanese restaurant, right? Only limited selection of sushi, no sashimi, no teppanyaki, no tempura, no teriyaki, no other remotely Japanese looking or sounding food. There's ramen, with a slice of a quarter (or was it a one-eight?) of an egg as its topping. That's it, that's all.
We feel we've been tricked by their influencers in social media who said there's unlimited order of lobster and black angus steak. We asked for these, and the waiter said those were only available for brunch, not dinner or iftar. The same reason when we asked for sashimi: only available for brunch. I wonder, is this arrangement only during Ramadhan? Or is it always like this?
And then, there's no ice cream! We had children with us so of course they asked for it, after all ice creams are standard, right? Nope, they didn't have them. I asked directly to one of the waiters, because ice cream table was nowhere to be seen, and she said there was none. They had an assorted menu of cakes and fried things and ice drinks, but, again, the selection was limited (compared to five-star hotels' restaurants all over Jakarta). And then strangest thing happened: When our father went to pay, he asked why there was no ice cream, and then all of a sudden a waiter in suit came to our table asking us if we wanted to have ice cream, with no extra charge, a selection from pistachio, lime or passion fruit. What? Didn't you say that you didn't have them? And now you do? What's the deal here?
Other than the above, they had skewers of beef and shrimp, placed near nasi briyani and lamb chops. They also had several courses of national/chinese/general cuisine. For drinks, they had water, infused water, iced tea and apple juice.
One note about the waiter behind the sushi counter: I feel that he was being low-key disrespectful to me. The sushi plate was placed behind the counter, so we had to ask him for it, so I said to him I wanted salmon sushi (nigiri), he said how many, and I said, "Five." (If I remembered correctly, the sushi serving plate consisted of four rows of sushi, and each rown had seven sushi, so my asking for five would clear almost an entire row.) He gasped, "Five!" And then I said, "Boleh khan?" He then said, "Boleh, semuanya juga boleh." I felt there was a more than a hint and gesture of cynicism when he was saying this, he then went on to clear the entire row of salmon sushi for me, seven instead of five, and at least one or two of the sushi were toppled on the side on my plate. (Was he being careless in purpose, showing his disapproval to my being there?) The whole thing lasted a few seconds, but I felt there was an edge to it.
All the other waiters were fine, courteous and professional.
All in all, we still had a good time, but it was because we were having iftar with our big family, not because of...
Read moreWeekend lunch, attending my dad’s birthday. It was awful experience, where to begin? Selection of food is very limited, only robatayaki which consist of only shrimp skewer, yakitori and mushy very small i dont even eat lobster / fresh water prawn thermidor style, some sort of regular buffet offering yakiudon, deep fried zucchini. Sushi and sashimi which were mediocre, the sushi rice taste like sticky rice for desert, while the fish quality less then supermarket. Some boiled seafood mostly clams and shrimp served on ice. Tempura station without ebi which is strange, some miso soup, chawan mushi with mushroom and garlic fried rice, and very tough roast beef. So called teppanyaki only consist of unfresh lobster and gindara. Drinks only sweet ice tea, store bought orange juice and infused water.
Taste wise, overall is just okay, nothing special, teppanyaki gindara they cooked it very dry. Roast beef very tough, soup for ramen and miso soup are the better ones.
Service? Refilling of food take very long, many chaffing dishes were empty for long time, the staff doesnt even know what gindara is when she was holding one while I asked for my teppanyaki order, only infused water available around 2 pm, juice and tea are gone.
Overall very unpleasant experience, and for lower price point, other hotels offer far more better quality...

We had our early family Christmas lunch at Keyaki, and it was such a great choice. The food was awesome—especially the sushi and sashimi. The seafood, like lobster, oysters, and scallops, was super fresh. The service was fantastic—big thanks to Rizky, Raymond, and Wahyu for making it such a great experience!
I was really impressed with their attention to detail. When I went to grab some garlic fried rice from the buffet just before it closed, there wasn’t much left at the bottom of the serving pot. Even though I didn’t ask, the teppanyaki chef came over and offered to cook a fresh batch and send it to my table. Such thoughtful service—and the garlic fried rice was amazing! They really get the...
