Suji - Suan Cai Yu | Ashta at District 8 — Restaurant in Jakarta

First time, ate here but directly had very bad experience. Beginning with the waiting list queue, we need to wait for 10 lines (this one we still didn't have anything worse in our mind as we thought this was good restaurant thus queing is long), we needed to give phone number to be called if our table was ready. They said it will be around 1 hour to be seated, then we went downstair looking for chair as not much queing chair in the restaurant. When they called us, we didn't hear that as it was only 3 times ringing. Then we had initiative to contact the restaurant to liaise about it. The staff, T* said as we can't be contacted then our waiting list was cancelled. When we put names in waiting list, the restaurant didn't said about the terms & conditions for just once to dial the customer. After that, they said we need to wait again for another 30 minutes as no guest yet settled the bills. After waiting around 25 mins, then new guest came but suddenly by the manager, A*, he let them to come in with reason friend of owner. How come that good & big name of restaurant treat the customer unfairly? The worst one, T asked us to sit separately for health protocol, just us, not other guest as others still sit closed each other. For the food itself, we ordered fish soup (gurame IDR198k++, kerapu IDR398k++), taste is good but oily & pricy. Chicken mala (IDR128k++), however quantity of chicken with chilli is not equal, too pricy and no taste of mala. We ordered fish ball but they said sold out. We ordered tofu IDR58k++ (this one just ordinary), sui kiauw prawn & chicken IDR68k++ (the skin of sui kiauw too thick, better Nn X*). For drink, there was special drink Lo Han Kuo IDR 198k++ (this one special compare to others). Overall, not good experience as the manager unable to manage the crowd & treat the customer unfriendly & unfairly. We didn't take pic as we already...

Frankly speaking the food is tasty especially the fish. However, service is really bad. First they gave us a cold veggies dishes so we asked them to gave us a warm one. The we ordered chinese oolong tea which has no tea taste at all. Why so stingy on giving us tea leaves when the price is not cheap. And the waitress didnt want to add the tea leaves at first when we complaint. The most horrible one is when wr found an insect inside our fish dish! We complaint and since there was still more than a third of it, we dont dare to eat anymore. We complaint and we expect them to at least waive or didnt charge us fully because it was the big portion and so much still left. But the manager didnt want to cut the price to smaller portion and only gave us 10% discount which not did the justice to the lack of quality and services that we got. They gave us free lohankuo drinks instead, but actually we were very disappointed to the overall quality...

Ambience was busy and loud. They have many waitress around you. The restaurant was decorated with pretty chinese-style decoration.

Ordered Ayam Goreng Lemon, Sui Giaw Udang, Rosella Tea and some cold noodle (that I had to cancel because I waited for all the food more than 1 hour).

The chicken was crispy on the outside, but dry on the inside. They forgot to give the dumpling's sauce. The tea was really good though. The service was beyond terrible. I had to keep calling the waitress to check about the food. Many different waitress came to the table and no one tried to reason with us. Didn't receive any apologies either. I would still understand if the restaurant is busy, but this happened when some tables were empty.

With this kind of service, price, food, and ambience, I would give them 0 star but its impossible....
