TLDR: the portions are a scam (asking before and receiving less), staff doesn't care and just tells you "for you it is cheap" and while any decent warung for 30k we leave almost stuffed, here you get a portion like a starter.
Only tried two dishes, the fish kebab and the fish fillet. The fish kebabs taste are very good, but the amount of French fries is ridiculous, not even half a serving. The vegis a dull.
The fish fillet is the worst we have had in all Indonesia. Thin like a credit card and dry. I asked before ordering and was assure it would be 200g and what arrived weight 50g with luck.
We ate and ended up having almost the same hunger. When I talked to the waitrres about the fish fillet and the amount of French, and just got shurged off. I offered to order a second fish kebab plate, but if she could add 3 more kebabs, and some more fires, taking out the veggies and sauce, so we would not end up leaving hungry. I was tolded that at the list one stick could be addedhe french fries request was not even...
Read moreThe Bamboo Corner is a low-profile restaurant on Jalan Popies, and easy to miss if you aren't looking for a meal or drink. Once you stop by to look at the menu, you'll be surprised by the great-value prices for food and drink you pay up to 100% more elsewhere. The icing on the cake was the dessert - black rice pudding. It was the first time I'd seen anything like it and I loved it. The coconut cream on top was really good. The seating is in two parts - an indoor space with cane chairs and wooden tables with tablecloth and a similar setup on the narrow porch outside with tiny fans whirring away overhead. I preferred sitting in the shaded porch. It's great for...

Went with the Seafood Basket and the Satay Chicken.
Satay Chicken was well priced and tasted very good - can recommend this as a starter.
I can't recommend the Seafood Basket though. Pricing is fair given most of the items that come out but the fish was poor. Overcooked is part of the problem and this was combined with the fish scales left on the skin - not a pleasant texture.
My partner ate the Nasi Goreng and around 25 mins later started to experience stomach issues.
Given the other restaurants around the area, i wouldn't...
