Dabar — Restaurant in Pulau Bali

This bar was great! Everyone there was very nice, and welcoming, from the bartenders to other customers hanging out there. First rate place to meet people. I liked the atmosphere, decorations, everything you need from your local bar, with lots of small details that make you feel comfortable. The owner was a superb host, friendly, funny, and interesting. The location was good. Down an alley a bit which gives the chance to get away from busy street noise, but close so that it is easy walking distance from main areas. Live music started at 8pm. I was told there is live music most days of the week. The band was talented, all the musicians played really well. They took requests, too. At a certain point, the owner joined the band, and he is a skillful musician, as well! I also liked the choice of music in the bar before and after the live music started. They serve a few food options (like chicken wings, french fries, corn fritters, a few Indonesian dishes. Prices were around 30k (appetizers) to 65k (main dishes). For drinks, there are classic cocktails (about 90k-110k) and small Bintang (30k). There is a Happy Hour from 5pm-9pm, with some of the cocktails buy one-get one free, and small Bintang is 25k. The staff are just absolutely lovely. I’m a 20 year old girl, I have never felt safer or more comfortable around bar staff then I have here (special shout out to Wayan for being amazing). My mum was recently in Ubud on her first solo trip and they made her feel so welcome that I had to check them out. She mentioned off hand that her birthday was the next day and they called her down because they had made her a birthday cake. Cannot express enough just how kind and welcoming everyone is.

Cocktails are delicious and sneakily strong - the Green Valley is a particular favourite of mine if you have a sweet tooth but Misty Temptations is equally tasty - you can tell how easy they go down by the fact I have no photos of them. I’ve been here 4 times in the past week and I will be returning!

This place is great fun! Alit and his staff know how to make you feel welcome and are keen to get you involved in a good time! My girlfriend and I went here on an off chance cause it was near our accommodation, what a treat it was! We are on our first night in Ubud but will definitely be visiting here again! Great live music, good and reasonably priced drinks, and the friendliest vibe, what more could you ask for!
