We were on a flying visit back home to Cork and it was a no brainer that we would stop off at this fabulous restaurant. We ate there pretty often when we lived in Cork and always had a really enjoyable experience. We didn't have a reservation but we just wanted to have a good meal before heading off to a Culture Night Punk reunion gig. We told the waiter that we wouldn't be overstaying and he sorted us out with a table immediately. I know the chef, Michael, pretty well as we both worked together a few years ago and he came out of the kitchen to warmly welcome us back. I had the Thai Red Curry with prawns and it was so tasty and had a delicious creamy texture and was immaculately presented. I can't remember the name of the dish my wife had but we both devoured the very generous portions that were put in front of us, washed down with two superb glasses of Sauvignon Blanc. And the whole meal was very reasonably priced. Cork is definitely a great city for restaurants and culinary experience and Cork And Fork is, without doubt, at the top of the list of local eateries. Definitely, DEFINITELY, pay a visit there cos I guarantee you you will not be...
Read moreA nice restaurant located off the beaten track in Cork city. Food is to a very high standard as is the wine list, the Sauvignon Blanc we had was a crisp, dry, and refreshing high end bottle at a reasonable price. A few minor issues with service. When the server took the order, one of the steaks was requested clearly to be with ‘no mushrooms’, the steak arrived unfortunately on a bed of mushrooms and onions. The rib eye steaks were very nicely cooked, were of a higher quality than most and they were super tender and delicious. The evening went great at Cork & Fork until it came to dessert time when I felt that the staff started to subtly move our group on. The dessert seemed pressured and rushed and immediately after the table was stripped and bill presented. The baked cheesecake was excellent. I would recommend Cork & Fork for its delicious food but if a relaxed meal with friends is your thing you may need to specify that...
Read moreAverage at best. The menu is limited, very confused and doesn't know what it wants to be. It claims to be "Irish European" cuisine, but not a single Irish dish in sight. The menu is comparable to Wetherspoons: basic, bland, and almost everything comes with chips.
I ordered the grilled duck breast. The duck came already sliced, overcooked and pretty small. The honey glazed carrots were far too sweet and undercooked. The "garlic and herb rooster potato" was not a rooster potato and there was no garlic or herb in sight. Very dry and overcooked.
The dishes served with naan came with a tiny, shop-bought naan bread, barely 4 inches across. The chips are the same kind you can find in the freezer aisle of any supermarket.
This place is very much a tourist trap aimed at British and American visitors, with bland and simplistic dishes that inspire nothing. The prices are not justified at all. Avoid this restaurant. Find...
