Terrible Experience with Rude and Unprofessional Staff

I recently went to, and I have to say it was one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had, primarily due to the incredibly rude and unprofessional behavior of one particular staff.

From the moment we walked in, we were treated with disdain. The hostess barely acknowledged our presence and seemed irritated that we hadn't made a reservation, even though the restaurant was empty . After an unreasonable wait, we were finally seated, but the negative experience had only just begun.

Our waiter was inattentive and dismissive. When we tried to ask questions about the menu, she rolled his eyes and acted as if we were wasting her time. She made several mistakes with our order and when we politely pointed them out, she became defensive and refused to correct them without charging us extra. At one point, we overheard her making rude comments about us to another staff member, which was both unprofessional and hurtful.

The food itself was mediocre at best, but it was the service that truly ruined our evening. Despite the subpar food and terrible service, we were still expected to pay a high price. When we asked to speak to a manager, we were told that there was no manager available, and our concerns were shrugged off.

Overall, the staff at Dock84 made what should have been a pleasant dining experience into an ordeal. Their rude and unprofessional behavior is unacceptable, and I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. There are plenty of other places in the area where you can get good food and be treated with respect. Save your time and money and avoid Dock 84...

Typical Spend: Approximately €8–€12 for a main dish and a drink.

Menu Highlights: Offers a variety of dishes including Irish breakfasts, sandwiches, and vegan options. Popular items include the Full Irish Breakfast and the French Toast. However, some patrons have reported inconsistencies in food quality, such as dry or overcooked dishes.

Ambiance:

Setting: Located in the historic Mill Building on Finisklin Road, Dock84 features a modern yet cozy interior with both indoor and covered outdoor seating options. The café is well-lit and has a clean, contemporary design. Some guests have noted that the atmosphere can be affected by loud music, but staff are responsive to feedback.

Service:

Ordering System: Dock84 utilizes a QR code ordering system where customers pay upfront, including tips. While this system is efficient, some customers have expressed dissatisfaction with having to tip before receiving service.

Service Speed: The café has received mixed reviews regarding service speed. Some patrons have experienced delays in food delivery, with wait times extending up to an hour...

Only been here once,so prefer to go at least 2 more times before I really feel comfortable leaving a final review. First impressions, spacious, friendly staff, and it looked quite busy little spot. Our lunch, I had Tikka masala chicken sandwich, and my fellow diners had, twisted Chicken wrap, and Chicken and avocado on potatoes bun(which actually ended up being a regular bread bap-which was a letdown). My sandwich seemed to lack some flavor I was expecting to get, too much yogurt dressing! The wrap had a lot of flavor and was tasty. The chicken avocado also seemed to lack flavor. Service was fast albeit a little inconsistent, always I think waiters or waitresses should check on their table to see if anything is needed or all is ok,etc. I felt that was missing, but definitely the friendliness was there which is always nice and I suppose also expected. Hopefully I will get another opportunity to try a breakfast. Lastly my cappuccino,I also had...

Edited review. 5-3-1 stars two drops in the last few months. If you like an unprofessional service and an attitude with your coffee, this is the place for you. As a regular customer being made feel dishonest, and a thief by a staff member was the final straw. I contacted the head office and gave them over a month to reply. They never got back to me after 2 emails and a call, so now it's time to edit my review. This place has been dramatically slipping over the last 6 months, and it's such a pity as it's in a great location and a beautiful looking restaurant. It has so much potential. Some of the staff are nice, but poor customer service obviously filters down from the top. They have lost me as a customer and the people I had recommended it to. To be fair in the last 6 months, the only thing that kept me going back was my favourite brand of coffee. Do not recommend......

I had the Irish breakfast, and it was good. The eggs weren’t all the way hard, but I should have been clearer when I ordered. I thought ‘fried’ would imply hard yoke. The bacon looked like a pork chop, was salty and limp (typical Irish bacon)- not bad, but not my preference. The bread, tomatoes and potatoes were all fine. The pudding was nicely flavored. My husband loved his steak sandwich - especially the sauce and the flavor from the jalapeños. The chicken sandwich was decent. And the salad was low on the falafel. There is ample parking at the grocery store next door, but the traffic in the parking lot is a mess. It’s a cute spot and I would eat here again.

Disappointing. Staff weren't exactly welcoming or chatty was a very vague and impersonal atmosphere. I used to enjoy the food here but quality has significantly dropped and portion sizes also. The extras are very expensive considering the amount that you get. €2-€3 for a side of a quarter of an avocado that is starting to turn when I can buy a whole one cheaper in the shop. I also pointed out to the waitress that the tomatoes on my plate were going mouldy and she just said "oh" and walked away as if she wasn't surprised. Would rather spend my money elsewhere. Not like it was before. Wouldn't go back.
