Stellar Garavogue sandwich. A veggie sandwich that was bursting with flavor. The Benbulben sandwich was also amazing! A must try in Sligo. It's a chicken sandwich with a very original almost creamy flavor. The scone (like a sweet biscuit for Americans) was so delicious with the softest butter I've had in years! Their Cappuccino is so good I'd have it everyday if I could. Service was friendly and quick. Price was very reasonable.

My gluten free scone wasn’t actually that good - really hard and dry, pretty tasteless - but I did come at 4:30pm on a Sunday, and can’t expect much. The prices were low and the atmosphere was nice, outdoor seating by the river. Plus, having home made gluten free pastries is always a 5 star in my book. I’m sure if you come at a better time or in a better day yours would be nice!

Small kafe. Accidentally ran in from the rain. Apparently in terrible weather any shelter will seem excellent. Coffee and pastries warmed us up. Protection, and in the right, and beautiful place.

A couple of weeks ago I got a horrible stomach bug. You know when you have gotten over the bug but you are terrified to eat again? Well I was at that stage, but starving so I decided to go into Grappa and risk a bowl of soup. Bare in mind I am not a fan of soup, I just thought that it would be gentle. I was given heaven in a bowl. It was the most gorgeous thing I have tested. It was fantastic. I'm not actually certain what was in it, I'm guessing there were tomatoes and peppers. There was a delicate sweetness to it with a slight peppery aftertaste. Cannot say enough good things about it. I have since been in again three times, today because I was late I missed the soup and had a sandwich, tip: if the ask you do you want the sourdough bread, grab it with both hands!!!! Another tip, if there is Terry's chocolate orange cheesecake, have a slice. It was so light and fluffy, not heavy or too jelly-like. Finally, the price, the place is so reasonable! Today I got a sandwich and cheesecake to take away and I had change from €10! Staff, I find are very helpful, pleasant and charming. Honestly, I cannot say enough good things about the place just that I'll be returning many...

My friends and I recently visited Gappa CafĆ© for breakfast, and it was an appalling experience from start to finish. I ordered Eggs Benedict, expecting a classic dish, but the hollandaise sauce was revolting—it tasted only of mustard and nothing else. It was so bad that I had to send it back after just one bite. My friends fared no better; their food was bland and presented atrociously, looking like it was thrown together without any care.

When I went to pay for the two coffees we had, the waitress insisted I still had to pay for the meal I sent back, claiming it "used up their stock." She even falsely claimed that I had eaten most of the dish when, in reality, I had only taken one bite. This level of dishonesty and poor customer service is simply unacceptable.

We used to visit Gappa CafĆ© regularly for coffees and treats, but after this experience, we will never return. We’ll also be informing all our friends to stay clear of this place. Gappa CafĆ© has lost loyal customers due to their disgraceful service and inedible food. Avoid...

Visited last Saturday evening with the intention of a quick cuppa and cake. 2-3 staff hiding behind counter in the dark. Older foreign couple were in front of us trying to get their attention for ages. Young staff member said we're bringing in the chairs and tables in 20 mins. No hello how can I help you. This was at 4.15 pm and they close at 5pm. Plenty of time for a cuppa. The couple left. When we tried to get tea, we were told the same thing. Made feel so unwelcome that we also left. What rude staff. You lost 4 customers because of them. And judging by older reviews, this is not new. Also the cakes were left uncovered on a table in front of the till, like a cake sale. To all visitors, Sligo is full of good cafes...
