We had the pleasure of dining at Ibby’s Kitchen, and it was an absolute delight from start to finish. For starters, we tried the aloo tikki chaat, samosa chaat, and the royal sizzler platter—each one bursting with flavor. The grilled fish and lamb chops from the platter were perfectly cooked and full of taste. The highlight of the evening for me was the tandoori prawns sizzler, which was simply outstanding—smoky, juicy, and seasoned to perfection. For the mains, we enjoyed the chicken karahi with garlic naan, a classic combination done right. The naan was soft and fresh, pairing beautifully with the rich, aromatic curry. The food was consistently excellent, the atmosphere welcoming, and the service warm. A special commendation to Ibrahim, the owner, for bringing such a high-quality dining experience to town. Opening a new restaurant is never easy, but you can tell from the food and hospitality that Ibby’s passion and hard work shine through. We’ll definitely be back—and I can see Ibby’s Kitchen quickly becoming a favorite spot for families and food lovers alike. Job well done! 👏

★★★★★ A Gem by the River! We had a lovely dinner at Ibbys Kitchen, the new Indian restaurant on Markievicz Road. The first thing you notice is the great view of the River Garavogue flowing by from your seat – a really nice touch. The food was superb; fantastic quality and authentic taste. The interior is freshly renovated and modern, with nice (though compact) seating. The staff were incredibly polite and attentive. It's very reasonably priced for the quality you get. Just a note that as it's new and popular, there can be a slightly longer wait for your food, but it's a sign it's made fresh! Very easy to get to via the city bus stop right outside. If driving, there's no direct parking but plenty of parking on nearby streets. Definitely worth a visit!A great new addition to Sligo! 👍

Best Indian Restaurant in Sligo - Period !! We visited this place twice and loved everything about it. The interior is amazing and very vibrant. The food was very tasty - one small feedback about food is to reduce the amount of oil 😅 One day we ordered paneer and other day we ordered Bhindi. Both the sabzis were tasty but toooo oily. Please reduce the oil 🙏 I want to specially thank the staff for being very kind and understanding with our baby. The staff were very nice and friendly. I would highly recommend this place to all - do visit it once while you are in Sligo 😊✌️

I understand that new restaurants can experience some teething problems, but unfortunately, our visit to Ibby’s Kitchen was quite disappointing. We waited over an hour for our starters, even though there was only one other table of 2 people eating when we first arrived and then other people who arrived after us were served well before. No one came to check on us until around 45 minutes in, and when someone finally did approach the table, they asked if we were enjoying our mains, at which point we said that we hadn’t even received our starters yet. Throughout the evening, three different staff members came to our table, yet none of them seemed to notice that we hadn't been served any food. Initially, we were told the delay was due to the food being freshly prepared, which we assumed was a given but we had only ordered a grilled chicken leg and a samosa starter, so the lengthy wait didn’t seem justified. Later, another staff member told us that our order had actually been lost. By the time our mains finally arrived, we were extremely hungry and just wanted to leave. We had been in the restaurant for an hour and a half by that point. When we went to pay, there was no apology. I did express our disappointment, but the only response given was that they are a new restaurant. While I do think the restaurant has potential, the staff need better training and should be more attentive to what’s happening around them. The food was nice but sadly, based on this experience, we’re...

On 26.08 at around 8pm myself and two friends went to Ibby’s Kitchen for the first time. We’re big fans of Indian food and love supporting new businesses in Sligo. We shared starters and amongst them was a dish called Chicken 65 which was chicken in a spicy sauce. You could tell staff were finding their feet and service was slow but we were in no rush so it didn’t bother us.

Half way through eating the dish, my friend and I realised that the chicken was pink and undercooked in the middle. We alerted staff and the dish was returned to the kitchen. Nobody acknowledged the mistake or extended apologies.

While paying the bill I asked the staff member was anyone going to acknowledge what had happened and it was clear they didn’t want to engage in conversation. I tried to talk to the staff member about the dangers of serving undercooked poultry to which they responded the busy was busy and they were rushing food out. They were reluctant to offer an apology and just about took the cost of the chicken dish off the bill never mind anything else. Everyone makes mistakes and had it been handled in a respectful and kind way, we would have moved on from it but their response was disappointing and concerning. Here’s hoping myself and my friend avoid...

I was excited to try Ibby’s Kitchen for the first time, but unfortunately, my experience left me feeling underwhelmed.

I ordered the Royal Mixed Grill Sizzler since they were out of beef, and to be honest, it was a bit of a letdown. The dish lacked the flair I was hoping for, and the base of charred onions was completely burnt. I don’t think it was meant to be charred to the point where it was barely recognizable. It’s a shame because the potential was there, but it missed the mark on execution.

My partner opted for the Moroccan Chicken, which the menu specifically states comes with a bed of egg-fried rice. However, we were served plain white rice instead, with no explanation or heads-up about the change. It felt like a downgrade, especially since it didn’t match what was promised on the menu. A quick note or a simple mention about the substitution would have been appreciated.

The next day, I wasn’t feeling well, but I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt since it could have been caused by anything and not the meal itself.

Overall, I was disappointed with my first visit to Ibby’s Kitchen. I might give it another shot in the coming months, hoping they’ll redeem themselves with a more...
