I am just dropping a review here to file a complaint about your security staff last night on Saturday 14th November.
Myself and my friend were lining up to go into your bar to join the rest of our friends who were there 15 minutes before us.
The security guard let two people in ahead of us. Once we were at the top, they refused and said “we’re full”. My response was, “please let us in, our friends are already in there and it’s just the two of us”.
He was very rude in his tone and said “go somewhere else but not here”. Myself and my mate walked away and I was keeping an eye on the security guard for a few mins..
In the space of 5 minutes, I had seen him let 3 girls in, 2 couples and 2 white males..
The reason I am describing the skin tone of the males is because myself and my friend are tanned /sallow skin..
We are both Irish, grown up here all our lives and have strong Irish accents.
For me, it came across very discriminating towards us.. as I could see with my own eyes , he let girls, couples and lads in who were all not tanned, assuming that I am not Irish.
I’ve grown up in Dublin my whole life and not once I have ever been treated and had that rudeness to me from any bouncer..
I hope this can be brought up and for this to not occur ever again as I do enjoy my time at your place but I felt very disappointed by that behaviour.
I fully expect a...
Read moreVery disappointed with this place! I tried to reserve space for group of my coworkers by contacting them via website - no answer. Then I rang directly - no answer. On arrival in late afternoon to the pub, I was not allowed in by bouncer at the door because I was wearing denim shorts. He made the point that there is a dress code for customers. He was actually very rude "announcing" this to me and whole group. For my liking - too much of testosterone and "steroids" at the front door. Outcome: 20 people left that place including me to more friendly pub down the road. So from now on Whelan's all the way rather than wasting time and visiting this place again. Just to note "Jimmy Rabbitte's" make sure you detail dress code on your website for people so this mistake can be avoided...
Read moreBar itself was good. Nice selection of drinks and good atmosphere. Door staff were a total nightmare. My boyfriend and I were inside and popped out to friends to let them know where we were. l had just gotten a drink and left it at our seats. Bouncer was utterly rude and wouldn't allow them in. We decided to go elsewhere but i went in to grab my stuff and finish my drink. Under my breath i muttered in frustration and he decided to refuse to allow me to go back and get my things. In any other service or non service industry this behaviour would be unacceptable. I've never had to deal with this level of unprofessionalism. Skip this place and go to Ryans down the road. Staff are old school Dublin gents who treat their patrons with good manners. Avoid...
