I’d like to first of all state that I have been coming to Nandos since they opened in dublin in 2011 (at least once a week On the 26/01/23 I went with my sister & wife. We all had our own Nandos membership chilli cards. My card had 10 red chillis on it which made me entitled to a free whole chicken. I went to the till to order for each of the 3 of us using our cards . I was served by a manager who I believe was Eastern European, the name on the receipt was Mirna, but I’m not sure if that is in fact in name & that’s why I have highlighted that he was Eastern European & a manager. Long story short, he couldn’t see on the system that I was due a whole chicken, I explained tho him that I was and that even the Nandos app on my phone showed it. He was quite dismissive & if I’m honest didn’t seem interested in helping. Everything question I had for him regarding the points his response was “ I don’t know how the points work” I didn’t wana argue with him so I just paid for the meal (which should have been free, aprt frm the sides). I saw another manager , short Irish lady, explained the situation to her, she took my chilli card scanned it & saw that I was in fact eligible for the free chicken , she apologised to me & refunded me for my meal. She was extremely pleasant to deal with and was really helpful & seemed genuinely sorry for the mix up. While this interaction was taking place Mirna came over & tried to lie by stating I had come with a bunch of Nandos cards & I didn’t know which one i was using, I put him in his place right away & explained there was 3 of us there & we had 3 cards. If a manager doesn’t understand how the chillis points work then how do they expect their staff to understand .. this guy needs to be retrained on how to deal with customers & not be soo dismissive otherwise you will loose...
Read moreSuper friendly and helpful staff. Ordering was a new experience, all ordering is done online apparently. Only suggestion I would make for the ordering process is to lay out the website like the physical menu is laid out. There were certain items that were at the bottom of a section on a menu, but in the ordering screen they were the first or second item. Wasnt horrible, just took a little longer to figure out where everything was.
Food was great. I wasn't expecting to find spicy food in Ireland. And by my standards, this wasn't "spicy" per se, it was a healthy medium at best, but again, not expecting to find any spice at all, a medium I will take any day (and mind you a medium for me is extremely spicy for most people.... so not a bad thing for the restaurant).
You grab the sauces you want to dip (or try out) from a "sauce bar" per se. We had 5 bottles at our table. I ended up mixing the mustard, the Extra Extra Hot and another which came out with a nice slow burn when mixed. I had the Boneless Chicken Thighs with Chips (fries) and Macho Peas with an extra Portuguese Tomato Salad side. The salad was great, I would have loved some fresh mozzarella, but then it wouldnt be a "Portuguese" salad. Chips and the chicken were fine as well. My only complaint is with the peas. I do not typically eat peas, but the way the menu stated they would be prepared intrigued me. That said, they were very lackluster. Everything else in the meal was...
Read moreHuge fan of Nandos for years and usually order cheeky Nandos once a week for takeaway through deliveroo, but I must say that this has been most the DISAPPOINTING and FRUSTRATING experience ever!
This is first time we are dining in at Nandos after the restrictions were eased in Ireland. We walked in, they check COVID certificate which was very acceptable but they insist on photo ID which we didn't have and they don't accept bank cards, all my bank cards clearly has my name on it. It's not like the COVID vaccine certificate has photo on it that they can match anyways. Come on, photo ID to get Nandos? This is just beyond outrageous, impractical, inconvenient. They clearly are overdoing this whole thing.
Second, you need to go the table and then scan their code, register for their app and order from the app instead. There is no guest order option, they force you to register which is another hassle!
They have also increased the prices and chicken looked dry and sad. You need get through so many hurdles to get this overpriced food on top of long awaiting time. The management clearly didn't think this through and as long this ludicrous rules are in place. We unfortunately won't be dining in Nandos and won't recommend it to others who value their privacy, convenience and time....
