Chicken Hut — Restaurant in Dublin

Honestly, this place is not the takeaway that I once loved.

Firstly, it seems that they have cut the portion sizes by like half. I normally ordered the chicken fillet burger meal which has a burger, chips and a can. Half the time I feel like I’m eating only bun and salad. It seems that 2 separate fillets are now the same size of what used to be one. The portion of chips is negligible to the point of being able to count them.

Secondly, the new prices are absurd. They recently increased their prices by a lot. The chicken fillet burger meal that I use to order was €6, but now it’s €9. A 50% increase! That’s truly unacceptable when you also consider the decrease in portion sizes. EVERYTHING on their menu had been impacted by these ridiculous price increases.

Thirdly, their 10% off when you order €30 or over on Just Eat is pointless because of their cheeky business tactics. They basically have higher prices on Just Eat so when you get the discount, it’s essentially the same price as what they charge in the takeaway. Therefore there is no “discount“.

I really used to go to this takeaway a lot. I’m not denying that their food is good, in fact, it tastes AMAZING. They have recently changed their chips and they are so much better. However, when considering the new steep prices and small portions, it’s hard...

Omg so bad customer service I order chicken on line they took my money & did not give me confirmation why ????? Because I live in Fairview so they don’t deliver there BUT they are allowed to take the money from my account!!!!!!!!

I called in the shop after 10 mins to ask , the girl on the phone was so rude saying we don’t deliver in dublin 3 so that’s why I didn’t give you confirmation. I say why you took my money then she answered it’s not chicken hut it’s the app ….. so call the app for your refund…..

I didn’t to call the app myself for my refund…… till now nothing done ????????

On the website there is no information about the delivery distance seriously and you guys are allowed to take customer money !!!!!! And even not giving any information about not accepting the order.

Now I need to keep calling the app for my refund…..

I'm very much a regular here. 2 minutes from the student accommodation blocks, this place offers a great quick meal at decent prices (although yes they have increased over the past 2 years). I've always found the staff to be lovely and amicable, i feel those complaining about customer service are just the type who are never pleased. Considering it's a stressful environment being located beside 2 pubs, it's no wonder the staff can come across as described before you talk to them. In terms of food, the variety meal is actually the best value priced item on the menu. Chips, spicy wings (top quality btw), 1 piece chicken, a dip and a can all for 8 euro in 2024 is very good value by comparison to other places. As a chicken shop, it excels in its class. Have brought friends here who all agree on the quality of the food. Honestly this is my go-to spot in a pinch or just lookibg...
