Virtuoso Restaurant — Restaurant in Dublin

Very bad experience because of the server(older woman, curly dark hair, was wearing glasses) . She was very rude and unprofessional. We were a group of nine, walked in and asked if they have table for nine. She said yes, 3 of our friends were coming half an hour late. When she took our order, me and my husband ordered only desert since we ate already before we went out. She started commenting that we're holding a table just for desert. Restaurant had Half their tables empty at this point. After 25 mins she came back and said she needed 2 tables and literally took one of the tables from under my feet. I've never in my life experienced a behavior like this. When our other 3 friends came they has to squeeze and sit at the corners. Clearly this server needs training if how to behave with customers.

Just because in can't answer to the owners comment I will answer here that there was no booking made. We were a walk in and we ask the waiter if she has table for 9 people. As for me and my husband eating before coming to the restaurant to be honest I don't have to explain that to you. We had an event planed so the restaurant wasn't the main point for attraction on our night but just a simple stop since the restaurant we actually made a booking to was closed. If you don't allow customers to have desert just put a sign. It's simple as that. And waiter was made aware of the other 3 of our friends that will be late. That doesn't excuse the server's...

Terrible place with very rude staff. Never coming back

Update to the owners comment: No, I never threatened any staff with a bad review. Also, the toilets were not closed, the waitress said it was only for who was consuming food, even though we bought loads of pints there. Also, it was lashing outside so we were standing under the tent on the footpath and the waitress told us to leave, even though there were no customers consuming food there and we were having our pints. My friend was trying to talk to the waitress to say we were consuming and where were we supposed to go and the waitress said “go home then”.

So Mr. Restaurant owner, kindly check the facts before replying to a review. You were not there and my friends and I felt extremely humiliated that day as that never happened to us before in any other place.

Please be more human and allow people that are buying many pints in your establishment to also use the toilets and be under the tent in the footpath if it’s lashing out....

Cibo sufficiente, più bello alla vista che al palato. Ma ai ragazzi è piaciuto e quindi di quello non posso lamentarmi.

Ma in 8 giorni passati in Irlanda, questo è l'unico ristorante dove ho pagato il servizio (10% poiché eravamo in 5), l'unico dove ho pagato l'acqua (5 euro la bottiglia) e soprattutto l'unico dove sono stato costretto a pagare in contanti, poiché ben tre (3!) carte diverse "non funzionavano". Pare che succeda solo alle carte italiane, mah.

Sono dovuto andare ad un bancomat vicino ma affollatissimo, e quando (dopo 20 minuti) sono tornato ho potuto finalmente pagare i miei 115,23 euro. Nemmeno i 23 centesimi mi hanno tolto. Alla faccia della solidarietà italiana, ogni singolo irlandese incontrato in questo viaggio è stato più gentile e onesto.

Vero che sul menu era scritto il prezzo della bottiglia d'acqua. Probabilmente in piccolo era anche scritto del servizio del 10%, ma fuori non si legge e non ci si fa caso. Ma in ogni caso, certo, avrei potuto alzarmi quando l'ho letto sul menu dentro e non l'ho fatto. Ciò non toglie che in 8 giorni in Irlanda questo ristorante è stato l'unico che non ci ha portato acqua gratis, che ha fatto pagare il servizio (poi perché solo da 5 persone in su? Quindi se prendevo due tavoli e ci dividevamo era meglio per voi e per i camerieri? Mah!) e l'unico che ora parla di coperto (che gli anglosassoni nemmeno sanno cosa sia).

Sul pagamento: ne ho fatti decine e decine di pagamenti in quegli 8 giorni, di ogni tipo e importo, da un euro fino a 550. Il vostro conto è stato l'UNICO che non ho potuto pagare con carta. Non una, ma ben tre diverse ne abbiamo provate. E sì, il bancomat era affollato ma solo perché c'erano tanti extracomunitari che lo usavano per versare i soldi, nessuno per ritirare.

Sul fatto che io non avrei salutato mi viene da ridere, perché non solo l'ho fatto ma ho anche conversato a lungo col suo nuovo cameriere che è lì a Dublino da un paio di settimane soltanto. E ho salutato (questa volta ben più freddo, ovvio) anche quando sono andato via e mi sono trovato a pagare anche i 23 centesimi. Tra l'altro, se il cameriere romagnolo che ci ha servito è stato gentilissimo e impeccabile. L'altro che si è occupato solo del pagamento, decisamente no, E no, io non pretendevo la mancia (ma lo sconto dei 23 centesimi considerato il disagio sì), ma quel cameriere per ben tre volte me l'ha chiesta. Nonostante il "bancomat non funzionante", nonostante i disagi, nonostante la completa mancanza di gentilezza. E nonostante il servizio che, a quanto dice il proprietario, andrebbe ai camerieri.

Eh sì, me le sono fatte due domande io. Speriamo se le facciano anche gli altri che leggono questa recensione, visto che ristoranti italiani lì in zona...
