Friday afternoon around 1 o’clock, my friend and I were looking for something to satisfy our needs to celebrate the weekend. As we wondered along Salthill to find a suitable place, we stumbled upon Ground and Co. We instantly knew this would be the place to relax, especially with a beautiful day ahead of us. We were greeted by one of their friendly staff, who sat us at a cute table for two. As we scanned the menu to fill the gap in our appetites, we ordered a Caesar salad wrap and a Brie BLT. We waited no more than five minutes for the food to arrive, alongside a cappuccino and a gorgeous mug of mocha. As we devoured our meal, it only got better. The music was stylish, like the chique uniforms the staff were wearing. Everything about our experience there was absolutely phenomenal. I could not express how much we enjoyed our experience here and would highly recommend to anyone with taste and looking for something special in Galway. I have been living here for a while and I have never been to a place as fantastic as...
Read moreNice place, nice staff but the food (well the food I was served) was shockingly bad. I ordered the deliciously sounding Chicken & Chorizo with Feta cheese stuffing and pesto on Foccacia sandwich (€9.80).
What came out was a steaming hot microwaved piece of dry turkey breast on some sort of bread that wasn't foccacia. A thin sliver of pesto scraped on, some stuffing and bits of chorizo. No feta.
I ate most of the thing because I was starving and in a hurry but I pointed it out to a waitress for the sake of feedback.
Was told afterwards by the waitress that it was in fact chicken and the Feta was in the stuffing.
I've loved enough chicken and hated enough turkey in my 47 years on planet earth to know it was turkey. My friend also tasted it and confirmed.
Maybe there were some trace elements of Feta in the stuffing. They eluded me anyway.
Enough to make me never return.
Maybe go yourself and try the turkey sambo.
It's not on the...
Read moreI came here on a recent visit to Salthill. I asked the woman working which pastries were vegan..she said the energy balls, peanut butter cups and coconut macaroons. I was a bit skeptical about the coconut macaroons and said "there's no egg in them?" and the worker told me what the ingredients were. Meanwhile each item has numbers listed under it that correspond to an allergy, the first number on there was 3 and I was able to see the sheet and that was egg. I got the peanut butter cup and paid and then double checked the allergens for that..sure enough the first number corresponded with milk, I told the worker and she let me swap it for one of the energy balls and said "sorry about that". So crazy to me to be so careless when people can have severe allergies... so definitely recommend double checking the list and not trusting the staff.. It's crazy to me she wouldn't have double checked but she seemed so sure of...
