I have dined here about 3/4 times over the last 3-4 years, always impressed with the delicious food. A few recent reviews regarding service caught my eye.... Previously we have always gotten excellent service, but this weekend we did notice a difference. It was a good 15 minutes after we were seated before we were asked for our orders (in this time no one came by with water, asked for our drink order etc). We tried to flag down a waitress and she brushed us off, which we were a bit unsettled by. The waitress who looked after us was polite and friendly, but she seemed really busy. The original waitress actually came back and apologised to us for not being able to help, because she was so busy. We of course accepted her apology, and I actually have a lot of respect that she took the time to apologise to us, and she really seemed genuinely sorry. Once we got out order in service was mostly up to par. I truly think this is an issue with them being understaffed/an issue with upper management. The place was full and there was only 2 waitresses and the host, there needed to be at least another 2 servers on the floor for the amount of customers. Overall, the food was amazing as it always has been. I feel bad for the staff as they are clearly overwhelmed and understaffed, which I assume is what has contributed to some of the negative reviews recently. I'm hoping that management can sort this, mainly so that their lovely staff are not working under so much unnecessary pressure. One star has been taken off for this, but otherwise this is a 10/10 restaurant for me that I will continue to visit

Trattoria Magnetti is in the heart of Galway and part of the Galway Walk on Quay St. to Eyre Square. What stopped us was the delicious smell of Italian that neither of us could resist. There was a short wait but we’re were accommodated in about 20 min. The place was full and it never slowed down. The restaurant was clean and had a great Italian theme. The waitress was very kind and had great knowledge for the food and pairings. We ordered a spinach ravioli, mushroom risotto, and a traditional pizza with buffalo mozzarella. Derek has traveled to Italy and sampled several dishes; without a doubt, this was 100 percent authentic Italian. The ricotta and spinach filled ravioli in mushroom crème topped with parmesan was prepared perfectly al dente. The wild mushroom crème risotto was cooked perfectly however I prefer risotto cooked just a bit longer. I still was content with this dish even so. The pizza was authentic and fresh. The crust was crisp and airy. If your looking for a house pizza, this will surprise you. This pizza is a bit different than most of us are used to, yet, it is very good. Don’t forget to get the breadsticks, garlic Neapolitan bread olives and focaccia appetizer! A must have! Enjoy.

Who ever says this place serves amazing pizza definitely haven’t eat a good, proper pizza . First of all serving pizza with the burn edges like this especially to a pregnant women - big fail . Another thing pizza suppose to be with prosciutto not simple ham from grocery store . I would say something to the waiting staff but I was not asked if “everything was okay “ when I came to pay , so I just paid and leave . The waiting staff was nice and the restaurant looks good but that’s it . Food very disappointing. I ate the pizza because I was very hungry but I left the burned edges . Very disappointed as I thought I will get nice pizza .

Came here today Sunday. We waited over an hour for out food first of all. During this time we were sitting outside we watched a family come in and get there food before us. We asked about where our food was no apology or nothing was given. The food was brought out with no cutlery my friend that asked what are we meant to eat it as they still never set the table. The waitress walked back to the table and started giving out to my friend about the comment about the cutlery! Saying we are only two people and started arguing with my friend I was shocked. I then went in looking for salth and pepper i walked in and mentioned into the waitress she said ill bring it out the same waitress that was rude to my friend! I waited another five minutes and just grabbed it off a table myself. We called another waiter to ask for this girls name so we could complain to the manager! He said that all that happened was the manager fault as they didn’t have enough staff on! And kept saying what do you want me to do ! I said that’s not excuse for your colleague behaviour as I understand there is busy days but there in no need to take this out on your customers all they had to do was come and apologise for the wait or apologise for the experience not complain to your customers about the bad day your having it’s completely unprofessional! I came out for a nice lunch with friends and the whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth. We refused to pay for the meal as I personally could not eat mine as I was so disgusted at the level of...

We went for lunch on the 12th of September and we were very excited as we are both chefs with my wife and our most beloved food is Italian. By the look of the place we got even more excited as it was so promising looked exactly like a little family run restaurant in the streets of Rome. We ordered Bruschetta Pomodoro for starter. Poor Irish cherry tomatoes chopped in half, not seasoned barely any basil on it. For main my wife got a Pizza Margherita, the dough was perfect, tomato sauce a bit underseasoned and again a tiny little basil tip on the whole pizza. The main issue was with my Homemade Meatball Pasta. The pasta itself is perfect homemade, tasty al dente pasta. I think they put my pasta in the wrong sauce as it had tuna and olives in it and they have Pasta Puttanesca on the menu. Could have been an honest mistake but imagine if someone is allergic to fish… anyway we didn’t complained as noone ever asked how was our food nor check on us. The staff was very busy and forgot about us for 20 minutes before they brought us the receipt then they again forgot about us for 10 minutes waiting to pay. In overall the food is okay but should be a lot better if there is an Italian chef in the kitchen but the mistakes made our experience a lot worse. The only very good thing was the price of everything. Not...
