I do not know how anybody with eyes and a nose could possibly eat in this place. Seriously. This place is disgustingly dirty; an assault on every sensory input on every level.

We entered on the lower level in the bar and were told to go upstairs for the restaurant. We proceeded up an old stairway that reeked of stale urine. I wanted to leave immediately, but one of my companions was having a crisis and needed food immediately and insisted it was OK because "the Google reviews are good." Proof you cannot rely on Google reviews...even mine, I guess.

The furniture was stained. Stained in a way that made me want to remove every article of clothing I was wearing that came in contact with it and purify it with fire. I do not understand how some of the stains that were on the chairs and the banquettes could have been created, let alone allowed to remain.

The walls were covered in food spatters. The ceiling was covered in cobwebs. Even the cobwebs were covered in dirt, they'd been there so long. Mere words cannot express how much every fiber in my being wanted to run, screaming out of this restaurant, but my companions insisted we stay.

They ordered the plant-based mezze board and Guinness. To the kitchen's credit, the board looked amazingly good. They did a beautiful presentation on the appetizer. Given, however, the condition of the dining room (remember the stale urine, the questionable stains on the chairs, the spatters on the walls, the cobwebs, the dirt on the cobwebs?) I had no desire to actually try said appetizer.

They ate, we paid, we left and, personally, I could not get out...

My partner and I tried to book a table for last sunday. We got no response at all, so we decided to try and go anyway. At the door, the bouncer refused to take us saying the place was full. We then went to Kirbys next door where we were seated for dinner. At the table, we mentioned to the waitress that we were actually trying to book for the other place, Buskers’ manager then approached us and offered a table at the pub, which wasn’t busy by the way. Once we moved to Buskers, the same bouncer that refused us at first kept staring at our table and whispering something to the waitresses, as if we were not welcome there. I am not sure if that was because we are a gay couple, but I have never felt so uncomfortable! My partner was so upset and we eventually left. I would definitely not recommend this place to anyone. Please, ensure proper training to the staff, so customers don’t feel like this....

I visited this place twice - once in the afternoon, and it was very chill and almost deserted. Pints are between 5 and 6 Euros, and it's a decent place for an afternoon or early evening meal. My second visit was a bit past midnight on a Wednesday, and let me tell you, it was a ROCKIN' crowd. It was definitely a younger, rowdier, college aged crowd, but there was no trouble to be had. It was just packed wall to wall, and everyone was having a good time. They have really good live music up front and then off to the side, in another large area, it was a bit more chillaxed with more chill music playing. They also have an upstairs area that is open on the weekends. From what I have been told, THIS is the place to be in Galway if you're looking for a party atmosphere. However, it was so packed, I wasn't able to handle it very long, so I opted out and sought out a low key venue.

I was in Galway for one night only and was looking for a place to have a soup to warm the evening. I walked around the Latin Quarter and decided to try Busker Brownes. The place were cozy and welcoming. I ordered the soup of the day (it costed only €6.5) and while I was waiting I was given a glass of water with lemon (I found it really nice). Soon enough the soup arrived accompanied by two slices of bread and butter, it was a bit spicy, but absolutely delicious, warm and tasty. I'm not certain about the soup ingredients though 😅 The waitresses who served me were polite and helpful. Great place! I shaw back in another opportunity.
