Hidden away at the back of an unassuming bar front in Eyre Square Galway is a time capsule bar and shop. Walk through the bar with tiled walls yo a courtyard behind a lnd stp back in time. There is plenty of room to socialise with two big bars but the main attraction was the shop filled with real antiques like the telephone and till, not to mention the stock of, now I'm no expert but I think it was 1950-60s cornflakes and all manner of food, beverages and cleaning products. I'd never seen them but they would bring back.memories for your elderly Irish relatives. The Gunness was smooth and flaversome. The staff were chatty saying Gunness was next door so they got it straight from the source and telling the vivid history of the bar and how it is a living museum of simpler times. I...

This pub is an absolute gem! Wojtek is the heart and soul of this establishment and the reason we decided to return. He has a way of making you feel instantly welcomed with his quick and friendly service.

From a business perspective, he convinced us to return to experience an event regarding a new beer they are featuring this week! We witnessed him dealing with an unruly/classless customer with the utmost respect and patience without skipping a beat.

Wojtek is an authentic, worldly, and talented individual who breathes life into everything he does. We feel grateful to have met him. His counterpart, Muscles, was hard-working, friendly, and funny! If you are visiting Galway, I highly recommend stopping in for a pint...

This place was super interesting! There is lots of indoor seating and possibly more outdoor seating! There are different bars everywhere for you to get a drink with bar seats and lots of large tables for community seating as well. The pizza towards the back was phenomenal and something I wish we had closer to home! They also have several different cases in that section with different oddities and relics of history including Harry Houdini’s lock, Edgar Allen Poe’s hair, and letters from Jack the Ripper. It was an intriguing place and was so much more than your average pub! Definitely something to experience! The atmosphere, food, and beer were perfect and it’s a place we will...

Stunning pub, great beer selection, fantastic range of spirits. When you walk in, this pub seems much smaller than it actually is. It had been recommended by a couple of people and we knew there was more to see. The bar staff were very welcoming and there was a good range of beers to pick from. When you walk through a door at the back of the front room, it opens up into a huge covered yard, with extra bar, and an area best described as having a “Diagon Alley” vibe. There’s also a rear bar area with lots of cosy little spaces. We loved it here and it’s now firmly on our list of places we’d like to go back to when we’re not working.
